• The Best Of Stern. 3/15/99.
  According to Julie Slater, the DJ who follows Howard on K-Rock in New York City, Howard has laryngitis so he didn't make it in today. Everclear was scheduled to perform today and their equipment was left in the studio. So anyway, they played ''Best Of Stern'' this morning. Here's what they played:

  • Jackie talks about his toenails having to be pulled out because of a fungus he had.

  -- Tuesday March 16, 1999 --

• Howard Still Sick. 3/16/99. 6:05am
  Well, it wasn't the snow that kept Howard home yesterday. He has a cold and laryngitis so he stayed home for the day. He said that he's been sick since last Thursday. He canceled the show last night and the only one who didn't get the message to stay home was Jackie. Jackie drove 2 hours in the snow and slop to get to the studio and then found out that the show was canceled for the morning. Jackie said he just went home and tried to sleep after finding out the news. Someone else said that Jackie didn't go directly home though. He had to find someone to read his plugs during the show first, then he went home to rest. Jackie said he thought that they were playing a joke on him when he first got there but soon realized that he just didn't get the message. Howard spent this morning drinking warm water and eating apples to soothe his throat. Robin told Howard about her trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions and how she ran into her old pal Clarence Clemmens from the E Street band. They said hello to each other and went on with their business.

• Comedian Robert Schimmel Calls In. 3/16/99. 7:20am
  Thanks to all of Howard's fans who voted for comedian Robert Schimmel, he was able to win an American Comedy Award last night. A few weeks back Bob was dead last in the voting on Comedy Central's web site but after he begged the fans to vote he became number one. They actually had to change the site because of Bob's landslide win. There was a hitch though. Bob won on the web but the 900 number they had set up for him didn't have the same results so they ended up calling it a tie between John Pinet and Bob. Bob called in to talk to Howard about it this morning. Howard played tape of Bob giving his speech and he first thanked Howard for getting him the award. Bob also told Howard about his wife having her baby a couple weeks ago. He said that even though there's a lot of controversy about circumcision lately, he had his son circumcised. He said his wife wanted it done because she ''doesn't like the way they look'' uncircumcised. He also said that they had to send the kid to a different hospital because his penis was so big and the doctor didn't have the correct size instruments to perform the procedure. Bob said that the kid's penis is really large and it looks out of place on him. He and Howard played around with that subject for a few minutes. Bob said that the kid's name is Jacob Schimmel. Howard joked that his nickname is ''Jake The Snake'' and he's only a couple of weeks old. Bob thanked Howard and the audience who voted for him because he really wanted to win this award. Congratulations Bob!

• The World's Greatest Ass Game. 3/16/99. 8:10am
  Last week this 18 year old woman called in claiming that she had the world's greatest ass. Howard invited her down to find out if it was true. They set up the game so there would be 4 women claiming to be the one who called in. Each one said that she was the one who called in and show their ass to Howard. Howard went right to it and each woman did it. Howard said he knew which girl was the one who called because she was beaming when she came in the studio. Howard had Fred guess who he thought was the girl first. Fred guessed it was number 4. Howard guessed number 2 and Robin guessed number 3. Howard was right with his guess. They didn't spend a lot of time playing this game. It was a quickie. Howard told her that her ass was okay but not the world's greatest. Number 3 had a great ass also and she works for an armored car company. Howard spoke to each woman quickly to find out what they did. Number 1, Sandra, is a student from the Community College of Philadelphia. Number 2, Cheryl, was the one who called in. Number 3, Tara, is the armored car chick and number 4, Paula, is a stripper at Club Fantasies in Rhode Island. Cheryl said that she thinks if she got breast implants she'd be Playboy material.(Cheryl works somewhere close to where I do, please e-mail me if you know which store she works at) Howard said that probably wouldn't be happening. He pointed out some funny folds she had in her ass.

  The thing that was really entertaining about this segment was KC. KC was in holding the microphone for the girls. Howard brought up last week's lie detector test that KC took. He was telling KC how everyone is surprised that he's had trouble getting aroused when he's with a woman. That led to a discussion about KC that lasted for at least 25 minutes. They were trying to find out just what's wrong with the guy. KC said that he thought Tara was his type and he'd probably sleep with her. KC thinks that it's a physical problem, not an emotional one. Pretty much everyone else agrees that they think KC has some major emotional problems. A couple of people pointed out that KC hates when people touch him. Gary said that KC will just tighten up when he puts his hand on his shoulder. They also think that he may have had some kind of sexual abuse when he was a kid. Gary said that KC worked at his father's wrestling camp when he was a kid and perhaps something happened there. KC doesn't think that's the case. KC did say that he was forced to go to a therapist when he was in first or second grade. He said he was writing some very violent stories that he just thought were creative. He said that he once wrote a creative story about some guy seeing a monkey's head in a pool with mustard on it or something like that. He also kept a list of people he wanted to kill! Howard said that is weird for such a young kid. Because KC hates when people touch him so much they had Scott the engineer go over and give him a hug. They said that KC repelled him like a magnet when Scott tried it. KC said that he doesn't think that anyone can be changed by a therapist but Gary told him that Robin is 100 times better than she used to be before going to her therapist. A couple of people called in and agreed that KC probably had some kind of sexual abuse as a child and he's just blocking it out. One caller told Howard how he has problems getting aroused and it's all because he had some weird sexual thing, ''Barbie and Ken Naked Sex Farm'', with his sister when he was 10. He said that she was 12 and she'd grab him and force him to do oral on her when he was only 10. He thought it was just playing at that time but now he has to go to therapy. He gave KC some advice and told him to get some help.

• Name That Pussy. 3/16/99. 9:10am
  Howard had a couple of prizes to give away today so he played ''Name That Pussy'' where they'd play tape of some celebrity crying while talking about something. The first tape was Jenny Jones crying about how her first memory was of her father throwing a table at her mother. It took a bunch of calls before Howard got a winner but the first call was the most interesting. The guy, Jimmy I think, didn't guess correctly but he told Howard that he would eat a spoonful of Gary's snot while Jackie farts in his face if Howard will play one of his band's songs. Howard almost puked when the thought of that went through his head but he agreed to it. Gary said that at this time of year his snot is really nasty so he'd have no problem filling up a spoonful of it. Howard said he knows that the guy's music is going to suck but it'll be fun anyway. Howard said ''book him'' for the show and moved on. Eventually someone got the correct answer for ''Name That Pussy.'' That person won a $200 gift certificate to Reel.com. The second game was tape of Ellen Degeneres crying over losing her TV show. Howard got that one himself. No listener's could get it so Howard gave up on the game for the morning.

• Everclear Apology. 3/16/99. 10:30am
  The band Everclear was scheduled to play on yesterday's show. Since Howard was sick they had to cancel their appearance. Howard gave a quick apology over the air late this morning. They were scheduled to play ''Father of Mine'' which is one of Robin's favorite songs.

• Lisa The Blind(?) Playboy Chick. 3/17/99. 7:05am
  This wacky woman called in from Canada recently and said that she's a blind Playboy model. She came in today and it turns out she's not really blind. She's ''visually impaired'' but she could pretty much see everything going on in Howard's station. She came in and Gary said she could follow him around the room with her eyes and she could see everything she was doing. Howard interviewed her and said she was really hot but really crazy also. She kept promoting her web site at www.hotlisa.com the whole time. She took off her top for Howard and he was pretty impressed with her breasts. She claimed they were natural and everyone pretty much believed that they were. Gary was trying to help her find something in her purse and found a prescription bottle that turned out to be valium. Lisa also said that she was arrested up in Canada after complaining that she felt someone was out to kill her. Her explanation led everyone to believe that she is imagining things and was harassing the cops with her complaints. Howard got bored with Lisa pretty quick but she agreed to let him paint her breasts green for St. Patrick's day. She said she was willing to let them do anything to her. Howard just painted her breasts green and moved on to other things.

• Howard Plays Superman Trivia. 3/17/99. 7:35am
  Gary put together some questions for Howard that he pulled out of a book of Superman trivia. Howard thought that it would be pretty cool to do it but after just a few questions he was sick of it. He told Gary that he picked out the worst questions. Here are a few examples:
  • What propelled Superman's ship to Earth? - Super warp drive
  • How old was he when he crashed on Earth? - 2 years old
  • When was his birthday? - February 29
  • Why is Superman 3 inches taller than his alter ego Clark Kent? - Clark slouches as part of his disguise
  The questions were all like those. Gary read about 20 of them but Howard just got aggravated with it because he thought they were lame questions. He said he wanted to pick out the questions from the book himself. He said that Gary read some cool ones to him earlier and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

• Plastic Surgeon Dr. Steven Weiss Comes In. 3/17/99. 7:45am
  I'll make a long story short here. Howard had this guy come in who was supposed to be a plastic surgeon who wrote a book called ''You're not an ugly duckling.'' The book was supposed to be about how this Dr. does plastic surgery on children as young as 7 or 8 to give them self esteem. The Dr. brought in the mother of a child that he did plastic surgery on to remove some fat. They spoke about how it's okay to do this stuff to give children self esteem. Obviously this got a lot of the audience in an uproar. Howard took a lot of calls from angry listeners who yelled at the Dr. and the mother. Even Robin was getting upset with the subject of doing unnecessary surgery on children. Robin was smart though. She asked at a couple of points who these people really were. She asked if today was April fools day or something. Well, it's not April yet but it was a scam. After he ended the segment he came back from a commercial break and broke the news that the Dr. and the mother were actually actors playing the parts. The two are from ''Tony and Tina's Wedding.'' They had me fooled.. I was checking out Amazon.com for the book before they were done. I knew something was up when I couldn't find the book. Howard said he'd been planning this bit for weeks and it finally came around and worked. Even after Howard announced that it was a goof people still called in and yelled about the Dr. performing these procedures.

• Nancy Wilson Comes In. 3/17/99. 8:30am
  Nancy Wilson, former member of Heart, came in to promote her new album ''Live At Mccabes' Guitar Shop'' which comes out soon. Nancy and Howard spent time talking about everything from her drug use to her marriage to movie director Cameron Crowe. Howard and Nancy shared stories about taking acid and going to see ''2001: A Space Odyssey'' when they were growing up. Nancy said she liked using acid but Howard over did it by taking 4 hits at once one time. Nancy said that when Heart was big she never really had any wild sex things going on. She said she's a romantic and didn't just go around banging guys. She said that she went out with Cameron Crowe about 5 times before they even kissed. It was a month before they made love. She said that was very special and they went at it all night. Howard had Nancy play a couple of Heart songs on her guitar to remind people of some of their music. She played a little bit of ''Barracuda'' and ''Magic Man'' on her guitar after an 18 year old kid called in and said he didn't have any idea who Heart was. Howard also played a song parody he and Fred did of Heart's ''What About Love'' called ''What About Gloves.'' The song was about the AIDS virus and they probably did it back in the mid 1980's. Nancy also played a little bit of ''Crazy On You'' for Howard. Before she left she played one of her new songs called ''Everything.'' Howard said he ''chubbed up'' while she was singing. He said he fantasized about Nancy giving him oral sex while she was singing.

• Jackie Late For Work. 3/18/99. 6:05am
  Jackie showed up a little late for work this morning. He got pulled over for having a headlight out on his car. Stuttering John said he told Jackie about it two weeks ago but Jackie blew it off. He showed up about 5 minutes late and told Howard that wasn't true. Later he admitted it was true. The subject quickly changed to Stuttering John and how he mooches his meals off of him all the time. That led to everyone telling their own Stuttering John stories. Howard told Robin how he was late this morning because he found dog crap in his house this morning and had to clean up his boots with paper towels. He offered Stuttering John $100 to clean them up for him because he said he knows John needs the money. Robin had a few stories about how John borrows money from her and never returns it. Gary also came in and told a few stories about John mooching off of people like Donald Trump. Trump offered John a room at one of his casino's down in Atlantic City and John took advantage of it. After this morning they should call him Mooching John.

• Comedian John Diresta Comes In. 3/18/99. 7:20am
  Comedian/Transit cop John Diresta came in to talk about his UPN TV show ''Diresta.'' The show had the lowest rating for a prime time TV show with a .81. John came in to tell Howard about how he got the show and how it basically failed. John used to be a NYC transit cop. He started doing stand-up comedy and developed a show that got picked up for $600,000 by Disney. They sold it to the people at the UPN network and they started up the show. John moved his family out to Los Angeles and now the show has gone into hiatus because of it's extremely low ratings. The guy is really funny but the show just didn't work. It got horrible reviews and no support from UPN. Today he was on to promote the fact that he's appearing at Caroline's Comedy club in New York from March 19 to the 21. He also said that he's done some audition's lately for some movies. He spent a little time talking about how he had to go down into the subways and clear out the dead bodies of people who committed suicide down there. John hung around to evaluate the Penthouse chicks that came up next.

• Penthouse Photographer Earl Miller Comes In. 3/18/99. 7:55am
  Howard had this Penthouse Magazine photographer Earl Miller come in to evaluate 6 women to see if they were Penthouse quality. He spent a few minutes talking with him then brought in each woman one at a time. John Diresta hung around to give his comical opinions also. The first woman was 18 year old Holly. Her mom took photos of her nude because she thought she was Penthouse quality. She never finished high school and worked in a factory testing light sensors until getting laid off recently. Earl said she wasn't Penthouse quality. Her face didn't have the right look. Number 2 was 22 year old Diana, a dancer. Earl said her face was too sweet for the magazine.. She needed a nose job but she had great natural breasts. Number 3 was 29 year old Paula, another dancer. Earl said there's no chance of her getting in. Her hips and ass were too big and her face wasn't that great. Number 4 was 28 year old Barbie who was married at 14, had 4 kids and has been divorced for 2 years. Earl said she was the closest to Penthouse material so far but she had a nasty scar by her naval. Number 5 was 29 year old Suzanne, a nurse who refused to get into a bathing suit. Howard asked her if she was pregnant... enough said. Number 6 was porn actress Ashley Lynn who was on the show a couple weeks back. Earl said she's too short for the mag. Howard said she had some funky looking lips too. Her body was good but the face wasn't that good. So Earl won't be taking photos of any of these women for Penthouse. Howard said he was thinking of putting out a magazine called ''Perfect 5's'' where all of these women would fit in just fine.

• Sandra Bullock Calls In! 3/18/99. 8:35am
  That's right, Sandra Bullock called the show today. It's always funny when Howard goofs on tapes of celebrities during Robin's newscast and Sandra has been the subject of many of them. Then when the celebrity calls the show Howard falls in love with them. Super sweet Sandra called in to promote her new movie ''Forces Of Nature'' which opens tomorrow. She called in shortly after the whole Penthouse thing so she said she could never get in because of her small B-cup breasts. Howard told Sandra he didn't know she was only a B-cup and might have to hang up on her. They joked around like that for over a half hour. Howard spoke to Sandra about working with Ben Affleck in the new movie and about her relationship with actor Matthew McConaughhey. They dated for a while but are now just friends. She said the rumors about she and Ben being in a relationship are false. Sandra said that she hasn't been with a guy in 8 or 9 months now! Howard found that hard to believe but Sandra said it was true. When Howard asked her if she uses a vibrator she giggled and said she wouldn't answer those questions. Sandra was actually in New York when she called in but said she was kind of afraid to come in the studio. She also claimed she had to catch a flight back to Austin so she didn't have the time. She also said that she's been a big fan of Howard's for a long time. She said that she loved Howard's movie ''Private Parts'' and saw it 2 or 3 times. She'll be working with the director of ''Private Parts'', Betty Thomas, next month on a film called ''28 Days.'' It turns out Sandra was at a going away party for Howard in Washington D.C. when she was only 13 years old. She told Howard she saw him dancing in a conga line at the party. Howard remembered the party well and explained that it was just before he was on his way to WNBC up in New York. Sandra didn't talk to him at the time so Howard wouldn't remember her being there but she was. We also found out that Sandra hasn't had any lesbian experiences and when Howard asked her about whether or not she smokes pot, she giggled and said she likes to ''mellow out once in a while.'' Howard took that as a yes. Howard told Sandra that he was going to send her a vibrator called the ''Pocket Rocket'' so she could try it out and let him know how it works. She said she won't talk about it on the air but he can come to the set of her new movie and talk to her about it. As Sandra was getting off the phone she blew some kisses to Howard.

• Hypnotist Laurie Stroupe Claims She Can Enlarge Penis. 3/18/99. 9:25am
  This woman Laurie and her husband Greg came in to tell Howard how they can hypnotize people and actually make their penis larger than normal. Laurie started out doing this with women and their breasts. She claims that she can hypnotize them and make their breasts increase in size. Eventually men asked her when she would do men's penis and she looked into it. She did some research with her man Greg and they found a method that worked. She claims that it can help a man gain up to 2 inches in length. All this can be yours for a mere $295! For evidence they brought in this guy Gary who was a contestant in last years Small Penis Contest. He claims that this actually worked for him and he has gained some length when he's erect. He gave the measurement but the god damn delay button was hit so it didn't go out over the air. Laurie says that she can also help people lose weight with her hypnosis. • Jackie's New Song ''Another Glass Of Fools Gold.'' 3/18/99. 10:10am
  Jackie has recorded a song for the opening scene of a movie. The song, ''Another Glass of Fools Gold'', is an awful, slow, blue-grass-country-type about Jackie's favorite subject, beer. Howard heard that it was really bad from Stuttering John. He played a little bit of it on the air while Stuttering John stood by to goof on it. Howard and the gang spent about 5 minutes goofing on it. During the news he'd break in with a piece of it once in a while to goof on it a little more. I don't think Jackie gave out the name of the movie it'll be featured in but when I get the info I'll be sure to post it here.

• Ruby Stops By To See Her God. 3/18/99. 10:30am
  Howard gave this 48 year old woman Ruby from Baltimore about 5 minutes on the air because she showed up at the studio and said she thinks Howard is God. The woman came in and Howard told her he'd give her 1 minute on the air because he was running late. She sounded like a toothless old homeless person but she said she wasn't homeless. She didn't have a lot to say, she just kind of stood there and said she should have thought this through more. After a few minutes Howard told Ruby that she had to go and kicked her out of the studio. She said she didn't want to leave because she didn't think she'd ever get back in the studio. Howard said ''Oh, you can be sure of that.''

  • Tracy The Hot Teacher, Gary Smoking And Stuttering John's Waste Of Money. 3/19/99. 6:50am
    This segment started out with this 27 year old teacher Tracy who had a story to tell about a student who masturbated in her classroom. It turned into a few different discussions though. Howard met Tracy and her friend Debbie but the subject soon changed to how Gary ''Baba Booey'' has started smoking after quitting 11 years ago. He was trying to keep it quiet so his wife wouldn't find out so he begged Robin not to tell Howard. Howard did find out about it but not before his wife did. Gary admits that it's a stupid thing to do and his wife was very upset but he's still doing it. Howard started to get back into the discussion with Tracy but then the subject of Stuttering John's finances came up. His wife is out in California trying to get an acting job. John's spending $2000 a month extra to support his wife out there and he has to borrow money all the time. He said that his wife is really talented and she's had lots of jobs come up but none of them have gone anywhere yet. Howard told him that she should just stay home and put some money in the bank for their daughter's education. Eventually Howard got around to getting the story out of Tracy. She told Howard that this 16 year old kid came in one morning when she was wearing a t-shirt and a mini-skirt. She has C-cup breasts and looks pretty good according to Howard.. So the kid sat in the back and put his back pack on his desk and didn't start working. Tracy walked back to see what he was going to do and she noticed that he had his hand down his pants. She had to tell him to go to the nurses office or bathroom just to get him out of the room. She told some people what happened and they told her she had to change the way she dresses at work. She went ahead and told the kid's parents what happened and they had to send him off to therapy. Tracy said it was kind of flattering that he did it but it was freaky because the kid never took his eyes off of her. The kids she worked with at the time, about 5 years ago, are kids who need special help in school so it wasn't a normal class. The story didn't take long to tell but all of the other stuff they spent time on made the segment 40 minutes long.

  • The Mike Walker Gossip Game With Jen Young. 3/19/99. 7:50am
    Howard had this woman Jen Young, who's the daughter of the late actor Gig Young, come in to play the gossip game with Mike Walker. Howard got right to the game when she came in. Mike calls in each week with 4 gossip stories. Three of them are from his National Enquirer gossip column. One is false, everyone tries to pick the false story. Here are this week's stories:
    1. Trying to impress a woman at a restaurant, Keanu Reeves made a origami swan out of toilet paper in the women's rest room. The woman wasn't impressed and walked out.
    2. Ben Affleck left a bar and didn't pay his bar tab. The bartender send the bill to his agent and Ben explained that he thought a friend picked it up. He sent a check with a big tip and a note apologizing for the slip up.
    3. While Sharon Stone was working with Kevin Spacey she had to open a box in a serious scene. On the first take she opened the box and burst out laughing when she saw a picture of Spacey giving her the finger.
    4. Whitney Houston refuses to go back to the Beverly Hills Hotel even though they modified a room just for her. She's upset about how they didn't tell her husband that the cops were going to arrest him one time.
    Everyone picked number 1 as the false story. They were all wrong. The actual false story was number three. After the game Howard took a break and spoke to Marilyn Manson. After the quick Manson call Howard got back to Jen. He was interested in talking to her about all of the celebrities she's slept with. Jen was there to plug her album ''Dreaming Realities'' but it's not available to the public at this point. She needs a distributor for it. Howard first spoke to her about how her father, Gig, shot his wife of 3 weeks then shot and killed himself. Jen was 14 at the time. She said he was never a good father and he wasn't around much anyway. So then Howard went through all of the celebs that Jen has gone out with and slept with. She went out with Clark Gable's son who Jen said used to love to have sex with her feet. She also dated Cher's ex-boyfriend Rob Camiletti, AJ Benza, Julian Lennon and Grant Show from ''Melrose Place.'' AJ Benza called in to talk about their date but there wasn't much going on with that. Howard took some phone calls and pretty much everyone said they didn't want to hear about this chick's life and that she was just a ''Star F---'er.'' When someone told her to get a real life she said she had a best selling book back in 1997 and she writes all of her own songs so she does have a real life. Howard told her that she has a nice voice but her music just isn't what he's into. Shortly after that he ended the interview.

  • Marilyn Manson Calls In. 3/19/99. 8:10am
    Singer Marilyn Manson called in to tell Howard about why the band Hole left his tour. Manson and Courtney Love put together a tour and things weren't going too smoothly so Hole backed out of the tour. Then Marilyn sprained his ankle and continued to perform and made the sprain even worse so he had to cancel 3 shows. He called in this morning to say that the tour will continue and he'll make it up to the fans in the near future. He said that Hole left because of an ''audience clash.'' Marilyn wanted to be diplomatic about the whole thing and said that Hole just wasn't playing to the same audience as he was. He said there's no hard feelings between he and Courtney Love even though they both bad mouthed each other on stage.

  • Conan O'Brien Comes In. 3/19/99. 8:45am
    Howard brought in ''Late Night'' host Conan O'Brien to try and get some info out of him about his relationship with actress Lisa Kudrow from ''Friends.'' Kudrow claims that when she got married back in 1995 she was a virgin. Conan went out with Kudrow for a couple of months so Howard wanted to find out if he had sex with her. Basically Conan said that he didn't have an answer because he wanted to respect whatever Lisa said. He wouldn't talk about anything that Howard asked him about her. He didn't admit anything about getting oral sex from Lisa or anything like that. After about 20 minutes of trying to get some info out of Conan Howard said that they learned nothing from him today. Conan then said he'd come up with something good... He thought for a few seconds and said that he got a dog, a golden retriever. Yeah, that's what Howard was looking for. Then Gary came in and saved the day with a National Enquirer story that said Conan admits to having used Preparation He on his face to tighten the skin.     The Singing Psychic, Fran Baskerville, called in to give Howard her picks for this weekend's Oscar awards. Fran is funny because she sings her silly predictions while she plays her guitar. Today she sang her predictions about the main Oscar awards and here are some of her picks:
    • Best Picture - Saving Private Ryan
    • Best Actor - Tom Hanks
    • Best Actress - Gwinneth Paltrow
    • Best Supporting Actor - Ed Harris
    • Best Director - Steven Speilberg
    Howard also got Fran to give a few other predictions. She said something about President Clinton getting booted out of office because of something to do with China. She also said that we'd find out that Hillary has had relationships with more White House interns than her husband. WOw! She predicted that Red Buttons will be one of the next celebrities to die and that Bruce Willis and Demi Moore will be next up to get a divorce. Robin pointed out that they've already broken up so Fran's a few months late with that prediction.
