Howard and the guys were back live this morning. Howard started the show talking about Duck Dynasty the Musical. He played a commercial parody they put together with them singing about things that happen on Duck Dynasty. He said he's an investor in that. He said it's going to be a great show.
Robin said she was in Amsterdam. Howard asked why she would go there. Robin said it was an inherited trip. Robin said she figured she'd just take advantage of it while it was there. Howard said he would expect nothing less from her. He said she's a jet setter. Robin said it's the first time she's been out of the country in 3 years. She said she had to get a new passport. She had to find a certified birth certificate to do that.
Howard asked if she met an Amster-man. Robin said she did meet some men. She was there with her nephew though so she wasn't picking up men. Howard said he knows what the score is. Robin said she isn't going to do that. She said it's a very interesting place. Robin said she took them to the Red Light district. Howard asked if her nephew went to a prostitute. Robin said he was there with his girlfriend.
Howard asked if Gary and Robin went there once. Gary said they went to the Anne Frank house and they got drunk. Gary told Howard that they were there for Heineken. Gary said he had gotten drunk and they went to the house and it sobers you right up because it's so sad.

Howard played a prank call Benjy made to a guy as if he were doing an interview show. He was yelling at the guy he was talking to an trying to get him to answer how he was feeling. Howard was laughing at it and said he likes the Benjy Bronk show.
Howard played ''An Awkward Conversation Between JD and Rachael Ray'' clip. The two of them met and spent a few seconds talking about cooking.
Howard said that was really awkward. He said he really can't talk to anyone. Howard said he has no social skills at all. Howard said JD went away for Thanksgiving. He said that he sent him an email telling him he was going to be away and they had plans in place to keep things going smoothly. Howard said he did tell him where he went but he forgets. Gary said he went to see his family. Howard asked which one. Gary said he's not sure. JD told Howard it was Florida. Howard asked how it went. JD said it went fine. Howard asked if he brought his girlfriend. JD said he did not but things are fine. Howard said he's surprised that his mom was there when he showed up. JD said she was there and happy to see him.
Howard said the Bill Cosby thing is still going on. Howard played a clip of a woman on the street defending Cosby. Robin said she's not sure how this is going to be resolved. Howard said he isn't going to be making any TV appearances. Robin said they've put a lot of things on hold for him. Robin said he's canceling shows too. She said that he keeps getting pushed further and further. Howard said he used to have a high Q rating but now it's not so good. Howard said Cosby was one of the most beloved guys out there and now he's not. Robin read that he's at 2015 on the list of most beloved celebrities.
Howard said he still has a worse Q rating than Bill Cosby. Howard played another interview clip where they asked a woman who she'd rather let baby sit, Howard or Bill Cosby, and the woman picked Cosby because he's not as x-rated. Howard played a new Cosby show theme song where they had a woman screaming over the TV show theme song.
Howard said Richard Christy's live revolves around drinking. He said he had to be at a bar when he was watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Howard said he has some audio from the parade. Howard played the clip they created where they had an announcer saying the Benjy Bronk balloon was coming but then he says it's just Benjy. Then they have the Bill Cosby balloon coming around the corner and having him doing something to a Wonder Woman balloon.
Robin said they're on high alert for this holiday season on airline flights. Robin said they say that terrorists want to take down some flights this Christmas so they're making people take out their phones and taking them apart and things like that. Howard said that Harry Truman just nuked people to get them in line. Howard said that maybe some day a President will do that with one of these countries. Robin said that won't help. She said it will only insight them to do more.
Howard said it sobered up the Japanese. Robin said there is no sobering these people up. Howard said it's like being at Richard Christy's house. There's no sobering him up.
Howard said that Mel B comes in wearing a bathrobe on AGT and she looks good. Robin said she's never open there on the show. Howard said they asked her about it and she didn't talk about it.
Howard took a call from Bobo who asked how he feels about Beth sitting down with Scott Shannon. Howard said he encouraged it. Howard said he was emailing Scott and he wanted to have her on to promote her book. Howard said he and Scott get along. He said he admires his career and how long he's been in radio. Howard said he has been tremendously successful.
Howard said Scott went to CBS FM and he's number one again. Howard said he encouraged Beth to go on the show because of that. Howard said he thought that he'd be really good with her. Robin asked if that has happened. Howard said it did. Bobo said that he's shocked. He said Howard used to kill him in the ratings. Howard thanked Bobo for the call but Bobo told him to hang on. They played him out with a theme song for him.
Howard said Scott Shannon is beating his old partner Todd. He said he's doing really well. Robin asked what they talk about in the email. Howard said they talk about radio and things that are going on. He said it's nothing heavy. He said they're both complimentary to one another. Bobo asked if he has gone to dinner. Howard said he hasn't but they do talk about doing that some day.
Robin asked if he should tell Bobo when he's done with a war. Howard asked if he was at war with him. Robin said he was. Howard said they can let go of that war.
Bobo said that he was wondering about Beth going on the Today show and Jay Leno was there. Howard said Beth told him about that. He said that Jay was there on the show and Beth said she felt bad about it. Howard said she has no reason to feel strange about it. He said he was sure Jay would be nice to her if they ran into each other. Howard said Jay was there and saw Beth. He said he's not sure he knew who she was. Howard said that Jay did talk to her about her book and had a short conversation with her. Howard said they had a nice quick conversation and that's the story. Howard said if he saw Jay he'd just say hello and move on. Howard said he's told Jay what he had to say to him on the phone years ago. He said Jay asked if they were friends and he told him they're not. He said he told Jay he didn't like the way he handled him. He said if he saw him today he'd just say ''Hey jay'' and then goodbye. Howard said he's not nuts. Howard said he talks to his Squatty Potty and that's about as nuts as he gets. They played another Bobo theme song. Howard had yet another one to play after that.
Howard took a call from an Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonator who said he wanted to make a baby with Robin because she looks so much like a maid. Howard thanked Arnold for the call and let him go. Robin said you have to wonder if the maid's baby will have the same cache that his other son has. Howard said no way that will happen. Howard said he really doesn't know but he wishes that kid a good life because he did nothing wrong.
Howard said he heard that Arnold's son knocked up Miley Cyrus. Howard said he's not sure if that's true or not. He said that Miley isn't denying it though. Howard started to do his Ted Kennedy impression but the megaphone cut out for a second and he said he lost the connection. Howard got back into it a few seconds later. He did the Kennedy impression for a short time. He had Ted Kennedy talking about Arnold and his son knocking up Miley. Kennedy was talking about the affairs his father had. He also told Howard that he has a higher Q rating than Howard does even though he drowned someone.
Howard said that he is on fire this morning. He said he's doing impressions, taking calls and playing bits. Howard said he's shot out of a cannon this morning. He said you know how that goes. Fred played a cannon firing sound clip.
Howard said Jason clogged his toilet after thanksgiving. Howard said he just made that up. He said he just assumes he did. Howard said Benjy hasn't gotten rid of his Labor Day tits yet. Howard came back and said he loves that band and loves music. Howard said he was watching Ellen Degeneres and she had Jimmy Page on her show. Howard said the first guest was One Direction and that was funny to him. Howard said that it's a sign of the times. Howard said that's just the way it goes. Howard said he could listen to this song over and over again. He said he actually does. He said he listens to that as he's painting. Howard said he has his songs that he listens to and he paints. Howard played some audio of that and Cosby had no comment about any of that. Cosby said he thinks that this reporter was told that they weren't going to be asked about that. Howard said that was the AP. Howard played some audio of Cosby asking that none of that be shown. Howard said he's not sure if they did the right thing by showing it. Robin said that she's not sure. Gary said they don't know that they agreed to not show it. Cosby was asking the reporter saying he didn't want to talk about it and he said he doesn't think they should show it. He asked them to please not show it. He said he would appreciate it if it was scuttled. The reporter said he would talk to his producers and let them know. Cosby said they didn't think it would be a problem to do the interview because it is the AP. He said they thought they had the integrity not to ask about it. Cosby told his people to get on the phone immediately to talk about that. In the clip Howard was playing they were talking about how they made no agreement not to ask about any of that or hold back on playing any of it.
Howard said they had the right to play it then. Robin said Cosby did say that he never asked them not to ask about it. Gary said the agreement was in Cosby's head. Howard said most news organizations avoid asking about this stuff. He said Cosby is used to that. Gary asked why it's coming to a big head now. Robin said new allegations came out after Hannibal Buress made the statement on stage. Robin said it's gaining traction now. Howard said they have mentioned it many times after it had been in the Enquirer. He said he's not sure why it never took off before.
Gary said Cosby is kind of old now and it reminds him of the old Nazi guys. Howard said he's not sure if the allegations are true or not. Gary asked what the most recent allegations are. Robin said they all seem to be from the 60s and 70s. She said she's not sure they have the ability to charge him with any criminal charges.
Howard said that Richard wants to be chloroformed. He said he might enjoy being with Cosby. Howard said that's so strange to him that someone would want that.
Gary said that there is a show coming up that hasn't been canceled. Howard said he's still laughing about the Richard thing. He said he wants him to chloroform him and then wake up with different pants on. Howard said that's just weird. Howard said he's not sure why anyone would want that.
Richard came in and said that he thinks it would be funny for Howard to be tugging on his pants. Howard said that he must want someone to do that to him. Richard said he wants to do it for the comedy aspect. Richard said that he thinks it would be hilarious. Howard said that it actually happens every other day but he just doesn't remember it.

Robin said she was over in Amsterdam and they dredge out those canals over there and they find about 17 bodies a year in there. Robin said they say that people get high and just fall into the water. Richard said he was over there in August.
Howard said Sons of Anarchy is so great this season. He said it's winding up and it's the end of the series. Howard said he really likes Gotham too. Robin said it really is great too. Robin said that all of the criminals Bruce Wayne is going to fight are older than him and no wonder he can beat them.
The caller said that Howard's suggestions are usually really god. Howard said The Walking Dead is really good too. He said he was glad with what happened last night. Howard said he loves it when they kill someone off. Howard said it was great. He said he loves the show. Howard said they are pretty much on target. He said there are weeks that are kind of strange though. Robin said there are times that it's slow. Howard said he likes it though.
Howard said he just bought the movie Guardians of the Galaxy and he loved that. Robin said she thought he might like that. Howard said Ralph told him to get it. He said that he didn't think he'd like the talking racoon but he actually did.
Howard said he rented Three Days to Kill and that was good. Robin said she has been avoiding that too. Howard said that's a really good one. Howard said he loves that kind of shit. Robin said he should see The Equalizer with Denzel Washington. Howard said he may have seen that. Howard said he's not sure how but he thought it was really good. Robin said there's another Liam Neeson movie. Howard said he may have seen that too. Robin said that was good too. Howard said he doesn't remember what he watched. He said the new X-Men movie was really good too. He said he just saw that and loved it.
Robin asked if he saw the new Dawn of the Apes. Howard said he did and he didn't like it. He said it was kind of sucky. Robin agreed. She said it didn't grab her like the last one.
The caller said that he's into the same kind of music Howard is into too. He said they have a diamond mine of music there and he wonders why they don't do a play list or something with that. Howard said that no one buys music anymore. Howard said they'd have to get clearance from the artists too. Howard said Letterman did that.
Robin said the Liam Neeson movie was ''A Walk Among The Tombstones'' so Howard told Gary to write that down for him.
Howard asked Robin if she saw Expendables 3. Robin said she doesn't watch those. Howard said the movie is pitiful but he loved it. Howard said it's so bad it's good. He said he loved it. Howard said Sylvester Stallone has made so many movies that he loves. He said that he loves when he's in a jungle or anything like that.
Robin said Mickey Rourke had a fight in Russia. Howard said that was a fixed fight. He said he's not sure why he has to do that. Howard said they claim it was fixed. Robin said the guy is a former boxer who is down on his luck and homeless. He wanted to have a fight so he flew this guy over. Robin said they say that they wanted him to go down in the fourth and the went down in the 2nd. Howard said he'd like to see that fight. He said he heard that Rourke was punching so slog that anyone could have avoided his punches. He said they had to go to break after that. Howard said he behaved himself and he never had any interactions with the police. Howard said if you want to avoid that then don't do anything that would cause the police to be called to your home. Jon asked JD if he agrees with that. JD said he's not sure what to make of Benjy. He said he's done so many things. He said it's like a guru type thing. Gary said he thinks he has issues of his own and he wants them all to be on board with him. They went to break after that.

Jon said Sal believes he's that good a singer. Jon said he has never backed off of that. Sal said he plays his Christmas songs in his car for his kids. He said he may make another CD too. He said he has a Christmas mix that he plays and he put his own songs in there.
Gary said once a month there they celebrate people's birthdays. He said Sal goes up and sings to them. He said that he goes up like they need him. He said he thinks he's making their day and they need that. Sal said he thanks God for the gift he's been given. Sal said he likes to sing too. Jon asked what songs he's playing for his sons. Sal said that they see songs outside of Macy's and he'll get up and sing. He said that he brought his kids to see Santa and he got up and sang there. He said his kids weren't thrilled with it. Sal said he was doing it to enjoy the holidays. He said he wanted to engage his kids in it but they could give a shit.
Jon said that Sal took his kids to see KISS during the Thanksgiving Day Parade. He said he admitted his kids didn't really want to do it. Jon said Sal is doing this for himself. Sal said the kids wanted to go to the parade so he wanted to go because KISS was there. He said that his son Antonio wanted to see a concert and he went to that. He said that was a Motley Crue and Alice cooper concert. He said that he actually forgot that KISS was going to be at the parade. He said the kids all wanted to go before they knew that. He said it was too damn cold out there to wait for Santa. He said that they were on this rinky dink trailer and lip syncing. He said they were like 4 rows back from the street. Sal said when the band came by police officer moved them up close. He said he was a friend and he has to thank them for that.
Gary said that they've all been there and done that kind of thing with the kids. Gary said there are some things that you have to do that are worse than going to see Motley Crue. Gary said the worst thing was going to see Thomas the Tank Engine because it was 90 minutes long. Sal said his kids are in sports and he has to go to all of the practices. He said that a lot of the moms like other guys better than their own husbands. Sal said that he can see them looking at their husbands the way his wife looks at him. He said his son Antonio drums so he takes him to lessons. He said next summer he has to take him into the city 5 days a week.
Gary asked Sal about what he's learned going to football practice. Sal and Jon said they talked about that last week. They talked more about Sal talking to the wives and what that's like. Gary said he can imagine that. Sal said the moms and dads are all cool. He said they talk about other things with him.
Jon took a call from a guy who asked if they can imagine what it's like with Sal at these parties and stuff. Jon said it's not the only time that this stuff is going on with Sal and his family.
Sal said he showed up to pick his son up and he had Metallica blasting. He said he thought he'd be the cool dad but his son waved him by so he wouldn't embarrass him. He said he gets it. Gary said kids at that age don't want to be noticed. He said that Sal is being the dad on Modern Family who thinks he's cool but he's really not. Sal said that he remembers his dad bringing in pizza to school and he thought that he was cool that day. He said that he though that's the moment he thought he was having with his son.
Gary said when he was in 5th grade he went on a field trip and his mother showed up late for it. He said that they were all being held up by that. He said that his mother got worse and she chased kids around the Empire State Building threatening to hit them with her shoe. He said that was the worst.

Jon said they took some shrapnel for the show today. Gary said that one of the things was from a guy who said that he didn't like the show being played when it was. Then Fred got in trouble for doing an intro for the show and Howard got angry about that. Jon said that he asks Fred to do that every day. He said it hasn't been a problem until today. Jon said he's fine with people not liking the show. He said he hopes they don't tune out but if they do he understands.
Jon said the other thing that came up today was Richard wanting Howard to chloroform him. Sal said Richard's eyes lit up when he heard about that. He said he thinks that it would be so fun to do that. Jon asked Sal if he has ever asked him to do it. Sal said he hasn't and he wouldn't do it. He said he'd be afraid of him getting hurt. Gary said that Richard always brings up how he'd be willing to sign a waiver. He said like that's going to help if he dies.
Jon played a clip of Richard talking about his Thanksgiving parade day at home drinking. Jon said that he loves that Richard had to go out searching for a bar to go to during the parade. Jon said Richard seems really excited about the chloroform thing. Sal said that's the stuff that Richard likes to do. He said he has his shit together and he has a great wife. He said if the beer isn't getting in his way then enjoy yourself.
Sal said that Richard thinks that it would be a historical thing on the show if he did the chloroform thing. He said he was so excited for the blowing Ronnie thing too. He said that he just wants to do great things for the show. He said he'd rather see Richard do Ronnie than do the Chloroform thing.
Jon took a call from a guy who was saying that they must do this stuff to impress Howard. Sal said Howard does have a tremendous influence on them. He said they want to make the show better so that's why they come up with that stuff. He said if Howard yells at them on the air it's like a family thing. He said they balance things out though.
Sal said that Howard once said he tried shaving in the shower without shaving cream and he was right about not needing shaving cream. He said that was about 18-19 years ago and he still shaves in the shower without shaving cream.
Gary asked Sal who he shaves his balls for. Sal said he tried it a long time ago and his wife said ''it looks good'' so that stuck with him. He said that it was a small comment and he figured that was the way to go. Sal said he never got another compliment on it again but it does look a lot better down there.
Jon asked Jon Leiberman what he had in the news. Leiberman ran down some headlines for today's Howard 100 News. He also got in a plug for Leiberman Live which is on at 4:45pm. Jon Hein got in a plug for today's Sternthology and then wrapped up the show. Gary gave his plug to Richie Keen, director of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, who was sitting in. He was there helping JD out with his directing on Sunny that day. He said JD did a good job. He said they don't have a date for JD's episode yet but the show premiers in January. They were done around 11:10am.

Howard said Scott the Engineer is in the playoffs in their fantasy football league. Howard said Jason was telling him about how everyone has paid to get into the league other than Scott. He said that Jason has gone to him a million times to get the money but he hasn't paid up yet. Howard said Jason says that he's not getting anything because he's forfeited out. Howard said you can't go to the racetrack and say you meant to bet on the winning horse.
Jason told Howard it's $100 to get into the league. He said everyone pays up. Scott came in paying his dues a few seconds later. Scott said he keeps forgetting. Howard asked how you forget. Jason said he should have paid in September. Howard said he only has the money now because he's embarrassing him. Howard said that's not right.
Jason said that he saw Scott this morning and there was no mention of the money. Howard said now it's just because he's embarrassing him.
Robin said he knows he's wrong. Jason said this is ridiculous and he shouldn't be in it. He said he should have paid earlier and paying at the playoffs is just wrong. Scott said it's not $100 anymore. He said it's $75 because he got into the playoffs. Jason said he should get nothing. Howard told him to just give the $100 now and get the $25 back at the end of the season. Scott said go ahead and kick him off then. Jason said they're together all the time and this is ridiculous. Scott said he knows.
Howard asked Scott what was going through his head. He said he must have thought he didn't have to pay. Scott said he just kept forgetting to do it. He said he wasn't worried about it because he knew he was going to pay. He said he was going to pay him no matter what.
Gary said he forgot to pay and he was told about it. He said he wrote it down and paid it the next day. He said that's what should happen. Howard said that Scott is reflecting his own dishonesty on to the other people there.
Jason said that he has to talk to the guys in the league and find out what they think. He said he thinks it's ridiculous that he hasn't paid off. Jason said it's unfair. He said that he can't ask everyone to pay up front of they see this going on with Scott. Scott said that he'll pay in advance. He said all of his bills are paid on time. Howard said that's because they'll take his house away from him. Scott said he feels bad that he didn't pay. He said he'll give him the money right now. Howard said of course he'll give it now.
Jason said Scott wasn't in the playoffs until this week. He said a couple of weeks ago he wasn't in it. Jason said it's just dirty to play this way. Robin said they can vote him out and not let him play anymore.
Howard let Scott and Jason go after that. He said Scott has been holding out and he's an angry guy. Scott said it's not like that. He said he wasn't just holding out. Howard said that's what it seems like.

Howard said the best thing is that this guy has such nerve lecturing black men about how to behave. Howard said he's telling them to pull up their pants and things like that. Howard said just imagine the lecturing. He said he should just shut up. The caller said it's like religious people who lecture and they're doing the things they are lecturing about. Howard said so many of them are deviants.
Howard said he went to see Cosby when he was young and he was so bored by it. He said he just didn't get it. Howard said that it's ridiculous that Cosby is lecturing people. He said it would be like Ray Rice being a marriage counselor. Howard said he had to go to break after that. As they went to break they played a couple of William Shatner clips including his cover of ''Silver Nickels and Golden Dimes.''
Howard took a call from this guy Tyler who won an award for his band Crackerman. Tyler said they won for best direction. Howard asked what wards this was. It was the Vegas Rocks Magazine Awards. Howard said they mentioned Baba Booey and Howard Stern in their speech. Howard played the clip he had and Tyler was yelling out Baba Booey a few times. Howard said that was nice.
Tyler said that he thinks Howard would like his band. He asked him to check them out. Howard played one of their songs that was a live version. Howard said he's a Caninus fan himself. Tyler said they love everyone. He said Howard is the King of All Media. He said he's glad that Robin can lick her own tits. He thanked Howard for that. Howard let Tyler go and said that's Tyler and his band Crackerman. Howard said tomorrow they'll talk to a Boy Scout who got his merit badge and yelled out Baba Booey.
Howard said he has some audio clips to play. He said he has some audio of Janay Rice talking about what happened to her. Robin said she thinks money has a lot to do with this. Robin said that she's trying to get Ray back in the NFL so he can get another lucrative contract. Fred played Robin's news music over her as she was talking about that.
Howard played a clip of Janay talking about how they were highly intoxicated when this elevator incident went down. Howard said that means nothing. He said Richard is highly intoxicated a lot and he's never punched a woman in the head. Janay was asked if she has seen the video. She said that she hasn't and she won't let the public drag her back there.
Howard played another clip of Janay talking about how she ''axed'' Ray why he didn't just leave her in the elevator. Howard asked what's up with ''axed'' and not asked. Robin said it's a lack of education. Howard played more of the clip and Janay was talking about why Ray dragged her out. She said he was upset and in shock. Howard said that she also says that everyone makes mistakes. Howard said that's some mistake.
Howard had some audio of Janay talking about losing the NFL contact and how that hurt the family. Howard said that Janay also claims that the Ravens asked her to apologize for something. Howard said he doesn't believe that. Howard played the clip and Janay claims that she was asked to issue an apology. She said they gave them a general script for her. Howard said he feels sad for her. He said she's a victim and obviously troubled. Howard said that she's mad at the media but she's really mad at her husband. Howard said this is crazy stuff. Howard said that there is a lot of money involved in this. He said that's what it's about.
Howard took a call from a guy who asked why they're condemning Janay Rice. Howard said he's not. He said that she should be angry with her husband. Howard said she didn't say that in the clip. He said she's angry with the NFL and the media. The caller said if she's decided to be in that relationship then of course she's going to try to get him back in the NFL. Howard said of course. He said earlier it was about the money. Howard said he's not putting her down. He said that she should leave his ass. Howard said he knocked her down and dragged her out of an elevator. Howard asked how you don't feel bad for her. Howard said he feels awful that she feels so poorly about herself that she puts herself in danger. The caller said he thinks he's making a leap there. Howard said he wouldn't hang around with a guy who is hitting him in the head. The caller said he understands that. Howard said he'd stand a better chance in a tank full of sharks. The caller said he can talk about it all he wants but he shouldn't condemn her for trying to get her husband his job back. Howard said he's not condemning her. He's not making fun of her either. Howard said he doesn't even know what this guy is saying. Howard said Ray Rice needs to knock some sense into this guy on the phone. He let him go a short time later.
Howard said there's a girl on the internet who is saying that if a guy beats you then he loves you. Howard played the clip and said that woman looked hot. In the clip she was saying that if the guy hits you like that then he loves you. She used the N-word in the clip and Howard said he thinks she's white. Howard said she must be into black dudes. The woman said that he loves you if he hits you like that. She said you just hope and pray that you don't get another black eye. She said that it's amazing. Howard asked how many stupid people we have in this country. Howard said that they need her on The View. The woman said that she got a black eye but it was her fault. She said that he was going to hit her and she moved and he hit her eye. She said that shows that he cares and it means that he loves her.
Howard said he's so not forceful in that way. He said he must not really love his woman. He hasn't cracked her across the head. Robin said that it's a man showing that he can beat a lesser opponent. Howard said he had to take a break after that. As they went to break they played a Benjy Bronk Show clip and a Barbara Walters 10 Least Fascinating People bit. They also played a bit with Beetlejuice Road to the White House bit and Stevie Wonder song about Howard... and a Wack Pack Story of Christmas bit.
Howard came back and said that Lady Gaga will be in this hour. He said she was supposed to come in with Tony Bennett but their schedule was screwed up so she's coming in by herself. Howard said she's going to do a song from the new album that she and Tony did. Howard said that it's classic songs that they're trying to introduce the younger generation to. Howard said he would have rehearsed Tony's part if he knew he wasn't coming in today. Howard said he doesn't know the standards but he could have rehearsed. Robin said she should get the list of songs they did. Howard said he knows some of the songs but only like one sentence from one song. Howard was singing some songs in that Tony Bennett style. Howard said he can sing in that fashion. Robin said it's almost like talking.
Robin asked if Howard knows that song Cheek to Cheek. Howard sang some of that. He said he would have sung with her but he didn't know. Howard said he would like to duet with Lady Gaga. He said she can really sing.
Howard said he and Robin were singing ''Blue'' together. Howard said the people at NBC want to put them in the Sound of Music. He played a bit they put together using clips of Robin and him yodeling.
Howard took a call from Gay Ramone who said he wants to ask Gaga about Taylor Swift. He said he heard some guys talking about how Taylor and Gaga hooked up but he wasn't sure if it was for a song. Howard said he'll ask her about that. Howard asked Ramone if he's gotten gayer. Ramone said he has ever since he got married. Howard said he does sound that way.
Ramone said he loves his squatty potty. Howard thanked him for the call. He said he will ask about that Taylor Swift thing. Howard said Rip Taylor just called and asked Ramone to tone it down.
Robin asked Howard to sing a few of the other songs on the Lady Gaga standards album ''Cheek to Cheek''. Howard sang a line or so from each song. Gary said they were going to perform ''Beautiful.'' Howard didn't know that one. Gary asked about a couple of others. He said he'd work on one of the songs for him. Howard didn't know the songs they were asking about.
Howard said he can sing ''Daisy'' and sang some of that for Robin. Howard said his mother sang that over and over. He said it's annoying. Howard said he isn't prepared to do a duet today.
Howard said someone put together a clip of what Riley Martin would sound like if he was Spicoli from ''Fast Times at Ridgemont High.'' Howard played that and said it kind of works. He said that was Ray Walston and Riley Martin. Howard said Ray is dead but he'd get a hologram to play him.
Howard said Mike Tyson showed up at the Soul Train awards. Robin said she has that recorded but hasn't watched it. Howard said Tyson came out and plugged his cartoon but didn't give an award. He said they didn't give him anything to do. Howard played the clip and it was just Mike plugging his cartoon. He said ''excuse me'' and walked off the stage. Howard said he's not sure what was going on there.
Howard took a call from Balls who said he wanted to ask Lady Gaga if she has any regrets in her career so far. Howard said he'll ask that if he really wants him to. Howard said he's sure she doesn't have one. Howard said she's too young to have one.
Howard took a call from a guy who said that they're remaking the Annie movie and he has no problem with the cast being black but the villain is white. He said she plays Mrs. Hannigan. Howard said that she was always white. Robin said that he's saying that it's an all black cast other than her. Howard said he thought that Annie was still white. Robin said she's black too. Howard said he didn't know that the whole cast was white other than the villain. Howard said maybe they could make it a black Stormtrooper. Howard said it is kind of funny if you think about it. Howard said they should get the police officer from Ferguson to play Mrs. Hannigan. Howard said everyone would tune in for that. Robin said there are a lot of white people in that movie, she just looked it up.
The caller asked Howard what kind of questions he asked his parents for the videos he made of them. Howard said he asked them about their lives and put it on DVD for his kids to have. Howard said they'll have that for the rest of their lives. Howard said he asked his parents what their favorite songs were growing up and things like that. Howard said they would start talking about their lives and it was really cool. Howard said his mom was a real pain in the ass about it. He said when it was done she liked it. Howard said his mom kind of ruined it for them when she said they had things to do. Howard said that his kids have watched it like 20 times each. The caller said that he wants to do it for his parents. Howard said he should or he'll regrets it.
Robin said Howard should do it for his kids. Howard said he isn't going to do that. He said someone who cares has to do it. Robin said he should ask himself the same questions he asked his parents. Howard said he is going to sell the tape of his parents so people can pretend they were their parents.
Howard asked Robin what she's doing for Christmas. Robin said she's going on vacation to visit friends. Howard asked if they're in Eritrea. Robin said no, they're not there. Howard asked if she's even been there. Robin said she raised money to build a school there. She said she has not been there.
Robin said she had a check up done and they asked her if she has visited Liberia, Guinea or any of those countries in the last 3 months. Howard said they're asking that at the eye doctor now. Howard said he just says ''Fuck no!''
Howard said Lady Gaga is there. Howard wondered if she's been to any of those shithole countries. Howard said that he would like to know what she can get to play at a corporate gig. Howard said he bets it's at least a million bucks a night. Howard said she'll talk about that. Howard said they have to ask about Taylor Swift and if she has any regrets in her career. Howard asked Gary what they're doing. Gary said they had to sound check. Howard said he didn't know that. He thought they were bringing her in. Howard went to break after that. Howard got out of that commercial and asked Lady Gaga about her schedule yesterday. Gaga said that she and Tony Bennett were rehearsing a bit yesterday. She said that they were at a studio doing that. She said she and Tony are doing a lot of shows together and she wanted to get back into the studio and sing with him. Howard asked if Tony is in love with her. Gaga said he's in love with his wife. She said that it's a Platonic thing. She said they have such a wonderful friendship. Howard said Gaga's father is a nice guy but he wonders if she looks up to Tony in a fatherly way. Gaga said it's hard to talk about him in that way. She said that they were singing Winter Wonderland last night and he had this joy in his face. She said he looked 25 years old. She said she has never been so happy singing with someone. She said she has done a lot of songs with people but this is her favorite.
Howard asked what makes someone awful to sing with. Gaga said that you can tell that musicianship isn't there for some people. Gaga said that Tony is in control of what's going on and he works on his arrangements and he's just incredible. Howard said he thinks that she likes this because not a lot of singers can work with him. He said this sets her apart from other people. Howard said she's set up as a real singer. He said that not all people who have songs out can sing. He said Gaga has a real singing voice. Howard said this is almost validation in a sense. Gaga said that it feels good to be taken seriously. She said that it's great to be able to sing and not have people messing with her voice. She said that they do it live and they do it over if it's not right. She said that she asks Mike to change things in the way he plays. She said that it's musicians and she likes that.
Howard asked if it upsets her when people are using Autotune and things like that. He asked if that's cheating. Lady Gaga said it is cheating. Robin said that practically anyone can go in and sing now. Gaga said that she respects people who can use Autotune to make an effect in a song to make it sound different. She said she has no problem with electronic music.
Howard said Sia can really sing. Howard said you can see that. Gaga said that it's a shame that she's not bigger. She said that she's not sure she gets angry but it makes her want to be more rebellious in this industry. She said that she wants to make more music for the fans. She said that you get people excited about what you can do and takes it very seriously.
Howard said Gaga got up early this morning to do vocal training. She said that she waned to sound good. She said that she went to bed at 1 and she was up at 5. She said that they were singing yesterday too. She said they were outdoors and it was tough. She said that she just rolls with it though. Howard said she has such a good attitude. Howard said she just rolls with the punches. Gaga said Tony does too.
Howard asked if she hangs with Tony. Gaga said she does and she hangs with his wife. Howard said that he did a sketch of her nude. Howard asked how that happened. Gaga said that he painted from a picture of her that Annie Leibovitz took.
Howard asked Gaga if she could be with a regular guy like a plumber or someone. He said he thinks that she has to be with a singer or a performer. Gaga said she can't think of anyone else that she'd rather be with than her boyfriend Taylor. She said that he's an actor. Howard said they've been together a long time. She said it's been 3 years. Howard asked if they're going to get married. Gaga said she doesn't know about that. Howard said he heard they had a commitment ceremony. She said Howard has heard a lot of things.
Gaga said she loves all artistic people. She said that she wants to know about paintings and why people painted what they painted. Howard asked if she paints. She said she does a little bit but Tony is a real painter. Howard said he did one for him once and he has it hanging.
Howard asked Gaga if she respects singer songwriters more than just singers. Gaga said that she respects them but she also respects amazing singers. Robin said Tony doesn't write his own. Gaga said that he has been singing jazz for 60 years. Howard asked if she's shocked that he's 88 years old and he can still be around and be relevant in show business. Gaga said he's incredible. She said she has to say that she's been around a lot of stars and no one really tightens up like they do when Tony walks in a room. She said there is a respect around him that's inspiring to her. She said that she wonders if she wants to keep doing what she's doing with the dance music and she just wants to sing. She said that she is going to take the next year to write songs and travel.
Howard asked if she's going to go to weird countries. Gaga said she probably is. She didn't want to tell him where she's going. Howard asked how the little monsters feel about her doing this kind of music. She said they've been supportive. She said they like it. Howard asked if that was her goal to bring them into that. She said she wants to expose people to jazz and have them fall in love with it like she did when she was a kid. Gaga said she has sold 20 million records and her proudest moment was singing with Tony and seeing her dad smile. She said there is a connection that's much deeper than sex or anything like that between her and Tony. She said she's there singing and it's bizarre but it's so beautiful. She said that it's the connection they have. Gaga said they were outside yesterday and her teeth were chattering. She said she told Tony and Mike that she felt like a Polar Bear up there and Tony laughed. She said that she thought that was so great. She said he's an old cat and she gets along with him. She said she's more connected with him than 99 percent of the other people in the industry.
Howard asked if it's true that she was lovers with Taylor Swift. Gaga said she doesn't think that Taylor would be into that. She said she has met her a few times. She said then her buddy Brandon called her and Taylor was dancing to her music when she was doing a photo shoot. She said that she likes Taylor after hearing that. Howard said he wasn't sure if she liked her or not. Howard said he heard that they were lovers but that was started by one of his listens.
Howard said this is one of Gaga's most revealing outfits. He said she's showing a lot of leg and a lot of titty. Howard said that he loves that. Gaga said she'll show that until she can't show it anymore. She said she's still young so she's going to do that. Gaga said she feels best when she's dressed up like that. She said that's how she expresses herself.
Howard said he heard a story about recording Lush Life with Tony and she broke down in tears and Tony had to sweep her up. Gaga said she told Tony she hoped she wasn't a mess. He told her that she wasn't a mess but just a sophisticated lady.
Gaga told Howard that when she was 13 years old she had this song her instructor gave her and she didn't know what Lush Life was. She said this song was so dark and ominous. She said she sang it at 13 and then Tony asked her to sing it. She said she hadn't done it in 15 years. She said she sat down to sing it and she had flashbacks to things that she's been through and she broke down. She said that Tony wanted nothing from her and he was such a gentleman. She said that he's the one guy who has never done anything weird with her in the studio. Howard asked if most men do something inappropriate. She said that is the way it has gone. She said men were shoving their hands up her dress. She said that things are still bad now. She said there are young girls coming up now who have to go through that. She said that they are told they'll be made stars and it's all a bit lie.
Howard asked why she won't name names. Howard said they shouldn't let these guys get away with it. Gaga said she has talked a lot about it and if you do the math you can figure it out. She said it's not rocket science. Gaga said that the music industry puts too much power in the hands of these guys. She said that Tony just isn't like that. Howard said maybe that's because he's 88 years old. Maybe he would have hit on her when he was younger.
Gaga said she thinks that she would have done good in the 70s. Howard said he saw that she bought a house in L.A. Gaga said she is slowly buying her places. Howard said for a while she didn't have a place to call home. She said she was on tour for 7 years so that's why she didn't. Howard asked if she's doing okay now. She said she pretty much is. Howard asked if she's still not drinking. Gaga said she's not sober yet. She said some day she will be. Howard asked if she drinks a lot. She said it depends on where she is. She said she can get really rowdy when she drinks.
Howard asked if she thinks that it was something chemical or something in her environment. Gaga said that it's chemical in everyone she thinks. Gaga said she thinks that all depression is from anxiety and not being able to relax. She said she was smoking, drinking and popping just to chill out when she was younger. She said she meditates now. Howard asked if she does TM. She didn't know what that was. She said that she uses the sauna now and that helps her relax too.
Gaga told Howard that what really did it to her was finding out what people around her did when she got famous. She said that it was family and friends. She said that someone sold her company out from under her without her even knowing. She said that everyone treats her like a commodity. She said that they just sell you out. Gaga said she was over worked and she got sued by a best friend. Howard asked if that's the one who got a million dollar book deal. Gaga said that wasn't true. She said that she and this friend lived in a walk up together and she was in a deposition room thinking ''You fuck'' as she was talking about this. She said that she was being sued for overtime. She said she could have asked for time off instead of waiting a year after to ask for overtime. Gaga said she's done with people after that. She said with all of her records she loves making music. She said that if she wasn't a star now she'd still be a star on her street. She said that she never would have made it without everything that happened to her.
Howard said it has to be tough to be sued by a friend for overtime. Gaga said she gave her the job because she was her friend and she didn't have a job. She said she loved her. She said she loved her ex-manager too. She said that she has love for so many people from her past. Howard asked if her manager sued her too. Gaga said she can't really talk about it but it's painful when it happens.
Howard asked if she talked to this friend about why she did it. Gaga said she told her. She said that she said that she had spent all of her money and she went to her daddy. She said that the way you make money is to punch in and punch out and work. Gaga said that's what she does. She said no one gave her what she has earned. She said that she has worked for it. She said her parents didn't help her out making it. She said she went for it herself and made it happen.
Gaga said that things are tough in this country right now. She said that we all have to hold hands and cheer each other on. Howard said that she was anti-people for a while. Howard said that a lot of her friends turned on her. Gaga said not all of them did. She said she's been with her vocal teacher for 20 years. She said she has an assistant who has been with her for 5 years and another one for 2 years and they're good friends. Howard asked if she has ever gone to a psychiatrist to ask about help with the drinking. Gaga said that she didn't feel well on the road. She said she felt very isolated. She said that she loves her fans and it's hard to tell them not to follow her. She said it's very hard. Gaga said she felt like she had this weird accent and she realized that she was just inside too much. She said that people want you to go out and enjoy your life. Howard said that's interesting that she stared to talk like someone else because she was so isolated. Gaga said she realized it after hearing herself talk in interviews. She said she was going nuts. She said she had people following her if she went outside.
Gaga said that her boyfriend would sweep her off her feet and put her on the back of his motorcycle and take her to the beach. Howard asked how we know this is the right guy for her. Gaga said she just feels it. Howard asked if he will be at the wedding if they get married. Gaga said no and laughed. Howard said he could be an usher. Howard asked if Elton John will be there. Gaga said she thinks he will. She said that he'd be very upset if he wasn't.
Howard asked if she is still mentoring Elton's kids. Gaga said that she is. She said she'll get to see them more next year when she has time off. She said she and Tony will do some shows together and she'll have a lot of time off.
Howard asked if she would do an acoustic tour. Gaga said she could do that. She said that she has her freedom now so maybe she will. Howard asked if she does corporate gigs. Gaga said she loves her fans too much. She said that her fans are so great when they come to her shows. She said they have so much fun. She said it was magical being on tour. Gaga said that they will come and see her and Tony sing now and it shows such a dimension in their minds. Howard asked if she would do a bar mitzvah for a million bucks. Gaga said it depends on what she's doing at the time. She said she's not driven by money.
Gaga brought up streaming services like Spotify and how they have to change something with that. She said that it's not doing anything for music. Howard said he kind of likes that he can get in there and download her whole album and be exposed to it. Gaga said she looks at it like how much money does an artist really need. Gaga said that it was like a miracle for her that her hip broke. She said that she can really sing so it didn't mater that much. She said that she wasn't able to dance until about 2 months ago because of that broken hip.
Howard said back in the 70s you didn't really need a whole stage show. Gaga said that they have to rehears now for months at a time. She said they she made that choice though. She said she did the big productions and then it became more trendy. She said that there is an art form to it though.
Howard asked if Gaga found it odd when people came out saying that throwing up paint was like showing anorexia. Gaga said she has a friend who drinks paint and throws it up to make art. Gaga said she has a song called Swine and she wanted to do some things during the song. She said that she wanted this chick to throw up on her and show that people can't degrade her like she can degrade herself.
Howard asked if she was raped by a record producer. Gaga said she wanted to talk about positive things. Howard asked her about it anyway. Gaga said that she wanted to heal from that. She said that she was a shell of her former self at one time. She said that she was about 19 at the time. Gaga said she went to Catholic school and she wondered if that's just the way adults were. She said she was very naive. Howard said she just wanted to sing and some guy swooped in and took advantage of that. Gaga said it happens every day and it's very scary and sad. She said it didn't affect her much at the time like it did 4 or 5 years later. She said she was traumatized by it. Howard said he knows women who were raped and they don't want to talk about it for years. Gaga said she didn't want to think about it even happening. Robin said this is why women have waited in the Bill Cosby case. Gaga said that they don't want to be defined by it. She said that it's one dick head who did it to them and they don't want to be defined by it.
Howard asked if she confronted that guy. Gaga said no. Howard said they say that helps. Gaga said she thinks that it would paralyze her. She said that she saw him in a store once and she was paralyzed by fear. She said that it really got to her when she got older. Howard said he thinks what would be worse is if the guy pretended that nothing happened. Gaga said that he could tell people that they used to date. She said that's the hard part. She said that he was 20 years older than her and he told people they dated.
Howard asked if she didn't go to her father because she was afraid that he'd kill the guy. Gaga said she can't say that. She said she doesn't know what she was thinking. She said she didn't tell anybody. She said she didn't even tell herself. She said that all of her drinking and nonsense is what came from that. She said she had to go to the source.
Gaga said that she wants to sing for Howard. She said after all of that she has Tony Bennett be so loving to her. She said he's not just a father or an uncle. She said he's a friend and he's everything. She said he wants nothing from her but her talent and friendship. She said that's all she's wanted all along. Howard asked where his Tony Bennett is. Robin said she's his Tony Bennett. Gaga said that they should all be each other's Tony Bennett.
Howard gave Gaga a plug for Tony and Gaga's new album ''Cheek to Cheek''. Howard said they're going to be doing 35 dates around the country too. Gaga said he works his tukas off. Howard said that he really does. Gaga said Tony spins on stage. She said she can't even do that in heels. Howard said most people his age are in an old age home. Gaga said that he inspires people. She said that he could have retired 20 years ago but he's still doing it.
Howard asked Gaga what she's going to sing. She said she's going to do ''Lush Life'' for him. Howard said he will comfort her like a friend if she collapses in a corner. Gaga said he's like a creepy friend. She said he's not creepy at all. She was just joking.
Howard said he will be a father, uncle, friend and a creep for her since Tony isn't there. Howard had her perform ''Lush Life'' after that.
After the song Howard said that's pretty intense to do for a show. Howard said they must do an hour and a half show. Gaga said that they do a 2 hour show. She said she couldn't do a radio show but this is what she does. Howard gave Mike the piano player a shout out. Howard talked to him for a short time. Howard asked if he plays that from his head. Mike said he does with that one. He said the music they have there is for an alternate song. Howard said he was never good at Piano. Gaga said that Tony's entire band is so talented. She said that they've embraced all of her friends who are into jazz. She said the whole experience has been fantastic.
Howard said he's going to start singing that kind of music. Howard started to sing ''That's why the lady is a tramp...'' Gaga told him to stop a she was laughing. Howard sang ''I did it my way'' too. Howard said she can actually act. Howard said she has a ton of dough and she's very young. Robin asked if John has to date famous women. Howard said he does. Howard said Yoko is yelling about that story. He played a clip of her screaming.
Howard took a call from Jim from Raleigh who said he saw that the Club Bene building was demolished. Howard said he saw that too. He said he can't believe it's still standing. Howard said that place was in Jersey and they used to do shows there years and years ago when they were at NBC. Howard said that they found some of Fred's old rubbers in the rubble. Howard said what he really said was that white people have progressed and they're nicer than ever now. Robin had some audio of Chris Rock talking about that on the Today show.
Robin read a story about how Kathy Griffin will be replacing Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. Howard said that he thinks that Joan would approve. Howard said that she should become Melissa's mother too. Robin said that Melissa is in good shape now that her mom has passed. Howard said she got $100 million. Howard said that Joan always said she didn't have that much money but he guesses she did. Howard said when he was really broke he knew people who had trust funds of like $3 million and they didn't have to work. Howard said that's the way to go. Howard said he's been going to therapy for 16 years and he's not better but this guy went a couple of times and he's magically cured.
Robin read a story about Adolf Eichmann dying 4 years ago. Robin said he was the most wanted Nazi. Robin said that they say he died unrepentant. Howard said he thought he was killed. Robin said that it actually was his second in command, Alois Brunner, who just died a few years ago. Howard said that's what he thought. He said that Eichmann died after a trial. Howard said he remembers that. He said it might have been in the 1960s. Howard said that he had to be old enough to remember it in the news. He figured he was 8 years old after Fred told him it happened in 1962. Howard said he thinks he was hung. Robin said he was. Howard said he was sitting there last night in his apartment and he heard drums. He said it was like a marching band sound. Howard said he wondered what the fuck it was. Howard said he's in a high rise and he heard it. He said it went on from 6:30 until 8 or so. He said he called down to the desk and it turns out it was the Apple store having some promotion. Howard said he called the store and asked what the fuck they're doing. Howard said they said it was going to end at 9. Howard said that was a bad move because they make enough money. Robin read a story about a woman who put fecal matter in her husband's IV. Robin said she has accepted a plea deal. Robin said that she will be sentenced today. Howard asked what she was thinking. Robin said that a 911 call was made that was used as evidence. Robin had a clip of the 911 call where a guy was telling the operator that they had injected fecal matter into the IV. Robin said the man could have died if it got into his system. Howard said that's what Richard wants him to do to him.
Howard said Gary told him the weirdest story. He said Gary was waiting for the bathroom and Sal came out. Then Richard came out. He said it was like 4 in the afternoon. Gary said that when you become famous usually people will say you have changed but today Lady Gaga was saying that her friends are the ones who changed. Dave said they did the video for it and that was a lot of fun. Howard said that was back in the day when MTV was a big deal. Howard said he likes what the guys are doing with the TV show. Howard said he would rather see a band play than see a video. Howard said the videos for Nirvana were okay but he'd rather just see the band play. Dave said that what people need to see is people playing music. He said that's what inspires people to start playing too. Howard said that they see people lip syncing and it makes you think you don't need to play an instrument.
Howard asked if they're the only ones rocking now. Howard said he saw that they're going out touring with Royal Bloods. Dave said they are. Howard said he loves them. Dave said they were in London doing some stuff and he was online watching performances and they totally blew him away. Howard said it's just a drummer and a bass player. Dave said their debut record went to number one in the UK. Howard asked who calls them to get them on the tour. Dave said they do. Howard said that must be cool for them. After the song Howard said he will fly with them. Howard asked why everyone turns and looks at the drummer. Dave said they're afraid he's going to make a mistake. Howard asked if that's how they end a song. Dave said if they all stop at the same time it makes them sound good. Howard said that it's all up to Taylor. Taylor said that it's the one thing he does good. Howard said good for him. Taylor said he's good at ending things. Howard said it seems like they had fun doing that song. One of the guys said that when they were kids all they wanted to do was this and that's what they do for a living so that's why they're happy.
Howard asked Dave if he stared smoking weed again. Dave said he did but he had to stop. He said he's an insomniac. He said he was recording in the desert for this record and there was some weed. He said he smoked it and slept for like 8 hours. He said he thought that it was his cure. He said he got his medical card and smoked some weed and smoked way too much. He said he watched The Kardashians and he went out of his mind. He said he had to stop smoking it. Dave said he's down to Whiskey and red wine now.
Howard said the guys did 5 days on Letterman. Howard said Dave seems like he's into them. Dave said Letterman has a lot to do with the Sonic Highways show. He said that he wanted to put it on TV. Howard said on the new album they decided to film them traveling from city to city and recording in each city. Dave said they talk a lot about the city and all of that. It airs on HBO. Dave said they were friends with the Letterman people so they suggested he call Rob Burnett. He said Rob told him to send him an email so he did that. He said Rob showed it to Dave and an hour later Dave told them to do whatever they can to make it happen and that's how it got done. Howard asked if Letterman has anything else to do in it. Dave said that they were on Letterman for the first time 19 years ago. He said when Letterman had his heart surgery he asked them to come in and perform Everlong because it was one of his favorite songs. Dave said having Dave and Rob involved was great. He said he grew up watching Letterman and he thinks everyone can connect or relate to him somehow. He said he thought that it legitimized it having him involved. Howard asked if Letterman ever picks up the phone. Dave said he thinks if you needed him to he might. He said he's got other things going on though. Dave said that people know to leave them alone. He said they will help them out and stand back and let them do their thing.
Howard asked if Dave has ever done anything with Letterman. Dave said he hung with him at the State Department once. He said that he can talk to him though. Howard asked what they talked about. Dave said they are going to do ''Something from Nothing.'' Dave said they went to 8 cities and 8 studios. He said they would load in and start recording the first day. Then he'd go out and interview people. He said he'd record the next day and go out and interview more people. By the 5th day they'd have an instrumental track ready. Then he'd take the transcripts and look for words and phrases to use in the song. He said he'd cut and paste the phrases into the song. He said that he'd go in and sing it and then make a performance video of the song.
Howard said it has to be a lot of money to record like that. Taylor said it's like 10 million dollars. Dave said it wasn't that much. He said they had a whole camera crew with them and there were like 15 guys. He said that the budge for that was insane. Dave said that their road producer asked how many miles they had on the band card. Dave said they had like 6 million miles and they paid for the crew with those miles.
Howard asked if they had to put the money into it. Dave said they did put some of their own. Howard asked if HBO gave them some money. Dave said they got some. Howard said that the guys play 3 hour shows but they sometimes have to stop due to union laws and things like that. Dave said they just keep playing until they want to stop. He said they don't do encores anymore. Howard asked if they do playlists. Dave said sometimes they do. He said they're a mess. He said that a lot of bands have computers and backing tracks but they're not like that. He said they can just do whatever. He said some bands can't deviate from their stuff but they can. He said that he thinks it's like shaking off your dick after you piss. Gary said that it's really about shaking it off when people trash you on Twitter. JD said he knows she didn't mean it the way he thought about it. He said it was comedy for him so fuck all of you.
Jon took a call from a guy who said he likes the Foo Fighters because they will incorporate guys from other bands. He said they just keep going too. Gary said they appreciate the roots and they do it in an organic way.
Gary said he thought one of the greatest moments was when the guy who worked with Jakob Dylan was talking. He said that Dave told the guy that Jakob was going to hear this show because they're not on a college radio station.
Jon said the Foo Fighters really mix it up when they play their stuff. Richard said he loves the stuff they do with other bands. Gary said that Howard was asking the guys about doing the TV show and Dave has figured out how to do it the right way. He said it's a new way to sell your record. Richard said it's a perfect way to promote it. Gary said you have to be their caliber to get a show on HBO though.
Jon took a call from a guy who wondered if they are going to all go see the Foo Fighters show on Friday. Gary said that Jason is talking about going to see them at City Field. He said that he was asked to go throw out a ball. He said that he won't do that though. He said he thinks he was kidding.
Jon said they don't go to see a lot of shows together but they do see some. Jon said he Steve and JD went to see Charred Walls of the Dammed. Richard said he and Steve are going to see a band. He said they're going to see Umphrey’s McGee soon. Jon and Gary talked about some of the other shows they've gone to see.
Jon said that Dave was talking about Prince and some of the odd things he's done. Gary said he thinks Prince knows what he's doing and he knows he's different than everyone else. He said he works in his own little universe. Jon asked Richard if he could jam with anyone or does he have to prepare. Richard said it depends on what they're playing. He said that he knows some songs like ''Purple Haze.'' He said if he doesn't know a song he'll listen to it hundreds of times to learn it.
Gary said he must know bar songs and stuff. Richard said he kind of knows those kind of things. He said he can just do them. Jon said they had to take a break but JD was playing some J-Lo song. It had horns in it but they weren't air horns. They went to break after that.
Gary said they say that vinyl sales are going up and it's just another way to do things. Richard said he bought Elvis' Christmas on Vinyl for 5 bucks. Shuli was in and said that they must have seen Richard coming if he paid 5 bucks for that.
Jon asked Richard about Sal's Christmas songs and Richard said he's off key sometimes. Gary said that Michael Buble has sold like 6 million records and Sal thinks that he's better than that. Jon said Sal believes he's a crooner. Gary said he can sort of carry a tune and he's tricked himself into thinking that he's good. Gary said he's not good. Shuli said he's like a good Karaoke singer. Richard asked what the chances are that he'll sing at the Christmas party. The guys said that he'll be the one starting it.
Jon said they talked to JD about the party and how the focus is going to be on him. Shuli said that's a tough spot to be in. Gary asked if they should play it up and have a light on them. JD said that's funny for them but not for him. Shuli said you have to do a lot to top the past experiences there. Gary said those parties don't always top each other but someone will always top it.
Jon took a call from Sal who was calling in from his office. He said he can't believe that Richard would say what he did about his album. Richard said he just said that he hits a sour spot sometimes. He said he needs some tea and he'll be fine. Jon asked Sal about the urine thing and how he got into that pretty quick. Sal said he doesn't want to do it but Howard asked him to so he can't say no. Gary asked why he can't say no. Sal said the show comes first.
Jon asked Sal about his concern for his kids. Sal said he has to think about that. He said his son is in 10th grade now. Gary said they'll never hear about that. Sal said he's all in and Richard can shit in his mouth too.
Jon asked Shuli what he had in the Howard 100 News. Shuli ran down a couple of headlines for they have in the news today. He also got in a plug for Leiberman Live and the Dr. Harry Fisch show. Jon got in a plug for Sternthology and gave the guys some plugs before ending the show around 11:10am.

Jon ran down what they replayed this morning and mentioned Scott the Engineer not paying his fantasy football league dues. Jon said sometimes people don't pay immediately. He said there are other leagues that don't let you even draft unless you've paid. Gary said he understands that. Gary said that the draft doesn't sneak up on you. He said he knows he'll be ready for next year. Gary said he makes sure he pays. He said if you don't have the money there for the draft then you go to an ATM machine. He said there's plenty of them there in Manhattan.
Jon said Jason is their commissioner and he has the personality to annoy people back if they're being annoying. He said he's the right one for the job. Gary said that he talked to Jason yesterday and he said that he thinks the punishment for coming in last should be that they have to be commissioner the next season.
Jason said that Will quit being the commissioner. He said he didn't change any rules. He said that they've never gotten after people for the dues. He said that he's been way too nice about dues and other deadlines. He said they all trust each other but next year he's going to run it a different way. Jon said he thinks that's fair.
Jon said people seem to be placing the blame on Jason for the dues thing. Jon said if he owed him money for any reason he will tell him that he owes him. Jon said he will make it a point to pay. He said it's a principle thing. He said that Gary doesn't like to let a debt linger either.
Gary said Scott told Howard that Jason only asked him 2 or 3 times for the money. Gary said they went to Ronnie and asked him how many times he asked for the money. Ronnie said it had to be 5 or 6. Jason said that's when he had to go ask in person. He said there are emails too. Jason said he has sent out emails to people who haven't paid. He said everyone but Scott paid after he sent out that email. He said that if you want to be like that but he won't make the same mistake next year.
Jon said that Howard kind of called Scott's bluff. He asked if they think that Scott would have paid if he didn't make it into the playoffs. Gary said he doesn't think he would have if they hadn't called him out on the air about it. Jason said he didn't think that he wasn't going to pay. He said that it really irked him that morning though. He said he had the $100 on him and he didn't pay. He said that it really surprised him when he got called out and finally paid.
Jon said that really pissed him off. He said that he got mad about him saying that he should only have to pay $75. Jon said that he thinks Jason should pay him a dollar a month back or something like that for the $25 back. Jason said he wants to wait until the end of the money to do the pay outs. He said there was some confusion about some other things.
Gary said that they asked at the start of the season if they wanted to make any changes. Gary said Matthew Berry wanted to make a change later in the season and Jason told him that he should have brought that up early in the season.
Jon said that JD is terrified of the punishment. He said the league means so much to him and he is so happy he didn't finish in last. He came in second to last. Jason said he's going to write a blog about it for HowardStern.com
Jason said that Ben Barto came in last place and then JD, Jon Hein and Lisa Ann. Jason said that Jon has won like 3 times. they spent a minute getting deeper and deeper into that. Jon said that they were spending too much time on football so he moved on.
Jon took a call from a guy who said that they had something similar going on in a football pool and they were supposed to collect $1000. He said that some people didn't get their money because people didn't pay off.
Jason said Scott was the one screaming about being paid for the push up challenge. Gary said that was the worst. Jason said he just listened to that this morning. He said that Scott won't even give money to the interns to get him breakfast. He said Scott will yell at someone to give him the money but he won't pay off what he owes. Gary said he doesn't track it when he gives money to the interns. He said that Scott isn't the same way. Jason said he's counting and pinching every penny over there. Jason said he thinks that Scott is projecting when he demands Howard pay him when he won't pay people himself.
Gary said they were talking about Scott that time for the push up challenge and Howard thought that it felt like a shakedown. Jason said he didn't even win. Gary said Howard didn't want to look bad over that. Jason said that Dean the intern ended up being the scapegoat. He said Scott was telling him that he wasn't counting the right way.
Jon took a call from a guy who said that he's in a fantasy football league and they all have to pay by a certain date or they're out. Jason said he agrees and that wasn't a priority for him. He said next season they're going to change some rules. He said they will have it in stone and no more rule changes or anything like that.
Jon said he has a suggestion. He said money at the draft and if you don't pay then you lose your draft position. Jason said there is no excuse for not having money. He said they work above 14 ATM machines. He said that they will just keep drafting until that person returns. He said they'll skip the person's spot the whole time.
Jason said that Matthew Berry and Michael Rapaport paid him very quickly and they don't even work 5 feet from him. He said most people paid him quickly.
Gary told a story about Stuttering John. He said that he and John had an appearance to make at Steven Singer Jewelers about 13 years ago. He said John told him he forgot his wallet so he paid for his cab fare and stuff like that. He bought him lunch. He said he paid for his cab back to Penn station. He said then they get to Penn Station and John didn't have money to get home so he gave him money for that. He said he never saw that money again. He said he never repaid him.
Gary said John called him cheap once and he lent him $20,000 once to help him out with buying a house. Gary said he came to him saying that he would have the money soon and he went to his wife and said he trusted John. Jason said John will pay you back. He said he has experience with that. He said that he has a lot of those stories.
Gary said he and John were at a strip club once and the girl dancing said to John ''That's $60.'' He said John tuned to him and said he forgot his wallet. Gary said he told him to go get it and didn't give him the money.
Jon said that a lot of people say that they did things for the air. Jason said John never said that. He said that when he first started there John was looking to get lunch. He said they went to lunch and he was making $19,000 at the time. He said John turned to Artie and said that he had forgotten his wallet. Jon said that Artie would go out of the way for people there too.
Jason said that Gary gave John a Christmas gift once and it was an Alien movie box set. Jason said that John turned to him and asked if he spent more money than Gary did. Gary said that John turned to an intern to ask about that. He said he could have looked it up. Jon asked if he was lazy. Gary said he was. Jason said that Gary hadn't even fully walked away before John asked about that. He said it was instantaneous. They went to break after that.

Gary said that Michael Rapaport is one of the guys that is the worst to deal with but no one wants him out. He said he's the best. JD said he doesn't want to read his emails anymore. Gary said he has made the league more fun this season. Jason said he wants him to be captain next year.
Jon said Howard and Robin were shitting all over this saying that they were wasting their time. Jon asked if this is one of those things you can't appreciate if you're not in it. Gary said if you're not into it then you don't get it and bash it. Gary said Dave Grohl said that if you like something then you just admit it. He said he's not sure why Howard has to shit on it. Jason said that Howard and Robin do silly things. He said he gets it when people are passionate about something and you're not into it then it looks weird. He said he gets that. Jason said he gets it but it's their loss.
Gary said he was insulted by Will Murray turning to him and saying that he wasn't really ''reading'' a book because he was listening to an audio book. Jon said they have to get into that. He said that Gary says that he just ''read'' this or that but he's listening to it. Gary said he's not sure he has to tell someone that he listens to it if he's in a group of people who he doesn't know. Jon said Jason has been outspoken about this. He said someone else came to him and said that it drives him crazy when he says that he ''read'' a book after listening to it. Jon said he won't say who that is on the air.
Jason said that he wouldn't say that he drove to Idaho if he flew there. He said you didn't read a book if you listened to it. He said that's all he's saying. Jason said that reading means more than listening. He said there's more of a time commitment when you actually read something. He said that you put in the time to do that. He said listening isn't the same thing. Jon said that it's the same thing if you're on a train and listening. Jason said it's not the same thing.
Gary said that he's not trying to sound smarter. He said he admits to someone that he listened to it if he did. Jason said that most audio books are abridged. He said there are chapters missing or parts missing. Gary said he almost never gets those versions. Jon said he doesn't like abridged books. He said he'd rather listen to the unabridged.
Jon asked JD if there's an uprising there over this. JD said this isn't a battle he's looking to fight. He said he does feel that it's kind of odd to say you ''read'' an audio book. Jason said he read the Foo Fighters album and it was awesome.
Jon took a call from a guy who said that he should say that he just ''finished'' a book. Gary said that he could do that. Jason said he could say that he just finished a chapter. He said that would be fine. Jason said it does bother him and he is vocal about it. He said he likes that there are people who are upset about it now.
Gary said that his feeling is that he gets to absorb 3 times more books than he would if he read them. Gary said he listens to a book for 35 minutes on the way in and an hour in the afternoon on the way home. He said that's 90 minutes that he gets to listen to a book that he wouldn't be able to dedicate to a book otherwise.
Jason said that Jon Hein was listening to the Game of Thrones books when he was reading them. He said that they didn't have a problem discussing them.
JD said sometimes he'll listen and read the book at the same time. He said that he had to do it with one book that had a funny character in it. JD said that he started Gone Girl like that. He said he hasn't finished it through. Jason asked if his lips move too. JD said no. Jon asked what else he's done it with. JD said he read a book with a character named Alan Partridge. He said he listened to the book and read it. Jon asked why he wouldn't just get one. JD asked why not get both and have all your senses... Jon said he thinks JD is the only person who has ever done that.
Gary said he has read a book and picked it up later with the audio book. Jon said he's done that. Jon said he didn't do both. He said that's like watching a TV show and reading the script. JD said he's done that too. JD said he'll put the closed captioning on if he's watching TV so he doesn't miss a word. Jon said he has done that too. He said he gets that. Jason said he has done that with the English version of The Office.
Jason said this fits a pattern with JD. He said that he watched The Wire on fast forward to get through it quicker. JD said he wanted to finish it. Jason was goofing on JD doing a high voice and saying ''Hey, it's Omar!'' Gary said that show is considered one of the best shows ever. He said the director went through the trouble of the lighting and nuances in the show and JD is throwing that all out the window. JD said he wanted to get the show over with. Jason said it's like entertainment or art and JD is treating it like a job. Jon said he's not sure why he wouldn't want to enjoy it. JD said there were some slow parts in it. He said he will watch it again... then he just let out a sigh. Jon said they had to take another break after that.
JD said he wanted to clear up this Wire thing. He said that he liked the show but he didn't think it was the best ever. Jon said he doesn't have a vote in it because he watched it while fast forwarding it. Jon said that he cheated. He said you don't watch shows that way. Jon asked what else he watched that way. JD said no. He said he had to watch those on Netflix. He said he couldn't watch them that way. JD said he has seen movies and stuff by fast forwarding them.
Jon said that JD is a guy who appreciates good camera work and stuff. He said this is why they're getting on him. JD said the shows were too slow or they didn't interest him so he went quickly through them. Gary asked if he would get upset if people did that to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia since he directed an episode. JD said he wouldn't get upset.
Jon said that JD is a student of film and camera work. He said that a show that has an artistic merit should get watched at the right speed. He said JD was cheating himself. JD said he just wanted to get the show done so he could be like everyone else around there. He said they used to all talk about it and he had to catch up. He said that they used to do a show where they talked about that stuff. He wanted to be caught up.
Jon asked JD about other shows and movies he's watched like that. JD said that there have been some. He said that he's going to watch The Wire again sometime.
Jon took a call from a guy who said that reading and listening to a book are two different experiences. He said you use different parts of your brain for that. Gary said he agrees with him on that. Gary said that Gone Girl is great as an audio book because they have a girl and a guy's voice doing it. He said it's like listening to a radio play in the audio book. JD said you do things in your head when you read a book. Jon said that you have a lot going on when you read and listen and visualize in your head. He said he has an idea what's going on in JD's head.
Jon took a call from a guy who said he does the same thing as JD does with the book and audio book. He said that it creates an audio idea in his head and he completes the image by reading it. He said it just goes along with it. He said he is completely normal and he does it with just about every book he reads these days. Gary asked what he'd lose if he didn't have the audio. The caller said he thinks that you get a better image in your head doing both. Gary said he thinks it's two different things going on at once but if it works for you then that's fine.
Jon said he has someone on the phone who JD mentioned earlier. He said it's Michael Rapaport. Jon picked up but Michael wasn't responding. He eventually did and asked who didn't want him in the league. Jon told him it was JD. Michael told JD that he was one of the people who wasn't on his shit list. Now he is though. He said that if he wasn't talking shit there's no reason to have a fantasy league. JD said that it's about the competition for him. He said that he doesn't care about the shit talking. JD said he made his logo as a skin head character in Higher Learning. He said he thought that was funny.
Gary asked Michael why he's on his shit list. Michael said that he tried to make a trade with Gary and he didn't respond to him. He said it's like calling a girl who doesn't call back. Gary said that he got a note from him and he told him that he was going to dance with the ones who brought him.
Jon said that Scott was in the playoffs but he didn't pay for the league. He asked if he's okay with that. Michael said that after seeing the bush league stuff they do he's not surprised. He said he's not getting anything out of this and they should be paying him to be involved with them. Gary said that someone in the league said that there is no way that he can win. Michael said he knows it's Matthew Berry. Michael said he is so pissed at Gary. He said he doesn't like him rushing him either. He said that god loves fantasy football and it's going to be him and Matt Berry and he's going to destroy him. Gary said he should have this talk once he gets there. He said that he has to win and then brag. Michael said he shit talks all the way through. JD said they know.
Michael said that Gary asked him to get him a t-shirt and he sent it to him. Gary said that he did and he got the package that said ''Give the 2XL to Hein.'' Michael said that Gary didn't even thank him for that. He said Jon sent him a nice note. He said that he sent him 3 shirts by accident too. He said that he can keep it but it would be nice to get a thank you.
Michael said that they get on the show and they don't tell the full story. He said that's why he's on set and calling in. He said he wants the public to know what's going on. He said that Gary has a nice wife and family and they have to deal with Gary. He said his kids should thank god they don't look like Fafa. Michel said that there's a lot of falsities that go on in the league. He said Scott is the coolest one there in the league. He said he tried to help Gary and he didn't take it.
Jon asked if Will is on his shit list. Michael said that Will is fine. Gary said it sounds like it's just him. He said he's mad at Jason too. Michael said that Ben Barto is a dick riding, ass kissing guy. He said Ben shit and pissed on him by making a trade with Matthew Berry. JD said that screwed him up too. Michael said that JD is dead to him now. He said that he shouldn't play in the league if he doesn't like him in there. Michael said that he was glad that Ben finished in last.
Jon said he had to let Michael go. He wished him luck in the playoffs. Gary said Michael calls Matthew ''Matt'' and he hates that so that's just another way to zing him.
Will was in and he said he likes to listen to books. Jon told him that JD likes to do both reading and listening. Will said it looks like JD is ready to hurt someone and it's getting close to lunch so he's not going to say anything.

Gary said he looked up in the archives and the Foo Fighters as a band had never performed on the show. He said that Dave and Taylor had. He said Pat Smear is a great guy. He said he was thrilled to be there. Jon said he's a great guitar player too. He said in the past it's been Dave and Taylor. Gary said they've been on 5 times. Jon said he's a music snob and he wishes he had more patience for it. He said he just doesn't. Gary said that he will go up and listen to what Lucas has and he'll listen to it. He said he'll play him some older stuff that they may have been inspired by. He said Lucas is always bringing him stuff and asking if it was sampled from something and they'll go back and listen to stuff.
Jon said that his kids listen to pop and he thinks it always sounds the same. He said they think that his music sounds the same. He said his kids do like the Beatles so he will hang his hat on that.
JD came in so Gary asked what he likes. He wondered if he likes songs or artists. JD said he listens to all types of music. He said he likes a lot of different things. Jon asked what concert he went to last. JD said he went to some jam band. Steve reminded him it was Widespread Panic. JD said he's not a big jam band type. He said it was interesting to see the people there. Jon asked if he's into any other bands he might go see. JD said he's not a big group guy. He said that's why he doesn't go to concerts. Jon said he goes to ball games. JD said he does. JD said he likes metal bands but he might not be into the mosh pit. Jon said that if he goes to a Bengals game this weekend there will be crazy people there.
Jon took a call from a guy who wanted to know why Howard is so fixated on Benjy interviewing people. Gary said he thins that he's so confident about it that they want to see what he can do. He said his interview with Beth was under 8 minutes and his interview with Howard will probably be the same. Jon said he started the show saying that people can't wait to hear it and others are wondering why Howard is letting him do it. Jon said any reaction is a good reaction. Gary said it's not going to last 2 hours. He said if it was he'd even tune out.
The caller said he doesn't think Benjy has any interesting questions. He said he's going to ask him what he's feeling and what's going on in his head. Gary said he thinks he'll go to a place. He said he'll have some idea in there. Jon said they'll get Benjy in there later to find out what he's thinking.
Jon said that Dave Grohl also talked about how he's hanging out with Courtney Love. He said he thought that feud was going to last a lifetime. Gary said that he thinks when you get older you mellow. He said he's going to be attached to Courtney for the rest of his life so he has to get along with her. He said Dave probably just wants to make it work. Jon said that they both have to make it work. He said one may not be ready to reconcile. Gary said he finds he holds less grudges than he did 20 years ago. He said now he's like ''Whatever.''
Jon said that's a great attitude to have. He asked JD if he agrees. JD said he does. Gary said he used to be mad at Penn from Penn and Teller. He said that he talks to him online now. Gary said that Penn got mad at him for playing a message he left for Robin one day. He said Penn saw him in the hall and tackled and tickled him. He said that it was very aggressive in a non aggressive way. Gary said one day he figured that he just had to get over it. He said that resentment lasted for like 10 years.
Jon played a clip of Dave and Howard talking about Courtney Love. Jon said years ago they couldn't joke around about it. Gary said that Dave has to do business with her so they have to get along. He said that's how he sees it.

He said Dave was in a great mood. He said Ross Zapin was here and Ross told him that Dave is rich and he is so nice and unassuming. He said some guys walk into a room and command respect. Gary said Dave isn't like that. He said he could be getting the respect if he demanded it. Jon said that's not bad for the sixth drummer Nirvana ever had. They went to break after that.

He said he thinks that Richard is curious about what it would be like to drink his own pee. Gary said he thinks it's more about the attention. Benjy said he thinks that he'd do it alone but not that motivated to do it.
Gary asked Benjy what he thinks is the biggest stunt he's done on the show. Benjy said he doesn't think that much about it. He said he was more proud of himself for being scared of the finger up the ass thing and going through with it. Benjy said he knew there was going to be a lot of ridicule over it. He said he was proud of overcoming that. Benjy said that he likes doing the phone calls where he acts like a pony or something. He said he does stuff in the background that he has pride for too.
Jon said Benjy is getting the opportunity to interview Howard Stern. He asked how he's preparing for that. Benjy said he has several days to prepare. He said he's jotting down notes. He said he has to think about how to handle it. He said Howard has talked about his life for 40 years and he thinks he might do a biographical interview. He said he has to think about things to ask about that he hasn't talked about. Gary asked if he thinks he'll have 8-12 minutes tops. Benjy said he's not sure about that. He said he is less nervous about this than he was with Beth.
Jon asked if anyone is jealous of him for this. Benjy said he doesn't have a sense of it but it may be going on. He said he hasn't felt it. Jon said if Sal had the shot he'd shove Benjy out of the way to do it.
Jon played a clip of Sal talking about the pee drinking thing. Sal said he didn't want to do it at first. Gary said that Sal is experiencing things that only a few of them have. He said that their kids get older and they start to hear things. He said that this can affect him. He said that he knows that his friends may be telling his kids something he did 25 years ago. Jon said that having daughters is something different. He said Fred is going through that with his daughter. He said that you know they're going to hear about things and hear about it third hand. He said that makes it worse. Gary said there is a pretty good chunk of the show you can't find on YouTube. He said most of Sal's stuff is out there. Jon said Sal makes it available. Gary said that he's sure there are tons of shots of Sal with his pants down.
Jon asked JD if he thinks that Sal is ready to move on. JD said he isn't and he showed that when he pulled his pants down within seconds of Richard asking him to. Jon said that Sal will do what he has to when he wants to entertain.
Benjy said that the guys seem to enjoy what Sal does. He said when they brought it up they talked about how that person wants attention. He asked why that's such a horrible thing. Gary said it seems like cheating in a way. He said that he could be famous on the show if he took his dick out and put it in Richard's mouth. He said he's not going to do that. He said it's a shortcut. Benjy said that's an interesting aspect. Gary said it's not always that he doesn't like it. He said sometimes he loves it.
Jon took a call from a guy who said that this sounds like it could be another classic bit. He said they have gold when they have Sal and Richard in there. Jon said they've been talking about doing it for almost a decade now. Jon asked Gary if they have an update on the legal aspect. Gary said they'll have one on Monday.
The caller asked what it was like when Robin was going through the guys and if they were hoping she'd pick them. Gary said he always wants to win. Jon said JD fared pretty well in it too. JD said he thinks he did. He said he beat out Scott and Ronnie. Then Gary crushed his dreams. Jon asked if it was great that she didn't eliminate him right away. JD said it was. He said she came back to get something from the back and he said ''Oh, look who's back here now...'' He said she just laughed and walked away.
Benjy said that it's funny when people get upset about not being picked. He said it's so insulting to the other person. Gary said that's why it's funny. They went to break after that.
Jon said he did play America's Dad on TV. He said that they don't know what's true or not but they do say that where there's smoke there's fire and there's a lot of smoke. He said it's not looking good for The Cos.
Gary said there was a story in the paper about someone who was wondering if he has to hate Cliff Huxtable just because of what Cosby may have done. Jon said this is like the whole Woody Allen thing. He said you wonder if you should stop seeing his movies or just dislike Woody. Gary said he has learned a lot about the law and now he knows about first, second and third degree rape now. He said that this is similar to OJ Simpson. He said he was acquitted and people just started calling him a murderer. He said he found out that if he wanted to sue someone over that he'd have to go back to court and open that all up. He said he wonders if Cosby is getting into that area.
Jon wondered if someone like Janice Dickinson helps or hurts this. He said that she's declaring herself as the world's first super model while she's talking about this. Gary said that if there wasn't anyone else out there it might. He said there are a lot of people coming out about it now.
Jon said that Howard just doesn't get Cosby. Gary said he loved him. He said that even later on he loved that HBO special he did. He said that became the basis for The Cosby Show. Benjy said he thinks that the women are telling the truth. He said he doesn't like when they take jokes that he did years ago about Spanish Fly and go back to that to make a bit out of it. Gary said that's a weird bit to do in a comedy show. He said he was the only one doing 20 minutes on Spanish Fly. Benjy said they've all done that kind of thing on the show. Jon asked if you watch Seinfeld in a different way now. JD said he does.
Jon said it's difficult to separate a TV persona from a real persona. Jon said that it's easy for people to connect the dots. Gary said it's strange for him to go home and have people at his kid's games coming up and asking what Jenna Jameson is really like. He said he tries to separate that stuff from his home life.
Gary said he really started to dislike Cosby when he'd call Chris Rock or Eddie Murphy telling them how to do their acts. He said he was really upset about him ruining Wanda Sykes act on stage once.
Jon said that Lisa G is there and it must be hard to hear that Benjy is going to interview Howard. Lisa said that she likes that he's getting advice from Robin and other people about the interview. She asked if he's practicing. Benjy said the only way to practice is to just do it. He said he is trying to interview people as much as he can on the internet. Lisa said that he wants to turn off everyone's microphone in the studio. Benjy said including Howard's. Benjy said the Beth interview was fun but he wants to have a different texture between them and he wants to stand out a little bit. Jon said that's fair but it won't happen for him. He said he's playing in Howard's room.
Gary said if they were shooting it off the air then he'd give him that. He said they're still doing it on the show. Jon said that he has to be prepared for everyone in the studio to be involved. Lisa said he has to think about it like a tennis match and taking control of it. Benjy said that's insulting. He said they keep saying that Beth took control of the interview. Gary said he doesn't agree with him on that. Benjy said he was just letting Beth ease into it. Gary said she's saying that there will always be control in an interview and he lost it. Benjy said no. He said he thought it was fine for her to ask him some questions. He said he didn't just tell her to stop. Gary said that it's not a vicious thing. Benjy said he feels they're putting him down. Lisa said it's really not. Benjy said it's like asking someone if they're still beating their wife.
Jon said that he doesn't think Lisa is attacking there. He said that Benjy sort of adapted to the interview. He said he chose to play along with Beth and that's a decision that an interviewer makes. Jon said he liked how he adapted to it and went through it and then asked more questions. Benjy asked why Lisa thinks it was a mistake. Lisa said she felt he lost control. Benjy asked if it ruined the moment. Lisa said it did for her. She said that she felt it turned around like she was the interviewer. She said she was pulling for him though. She said she hopes that he can be even better for Howard. She said his interview with Beth was good. Benjy said that's the first time she's said that.
Jon asked Lisa to give them the Howard 100 News headlines. Lisa ran down a few things they had coming up. She also got in a plug for Leiberman Live. Gary said that Angry Alice is an insane Yankees fan. He said he saw pictures of her apartment and she's got a ton of Yankees stuff in there. He said it wasn't what he expected at all. Jon got in a plug for today's Sternthology and wrapped up the show. They were done around 10:55am.
