The following story was submitted by a fan of The Howard Stern Show who wanted to share their ''Brush with Greatness'' with others. Submitted by: Batton - 3/17/01 The story... I don't have a brush with greatness- it's more like rubbing elbows with greatness. It was June, 1990, and my friend Vicki got tickets for a Pat Cooper/ Richard Belzer pereformance (!) at the Bitter End. It was all very last minute, but what the hell- I heard Pat just that morning plugging his performance on the Stern show, so why not? Vicki and I arrive at the Bitter End for the evening show and are seated. It was very tight- the place was packed! Yet, the table right next to us was empty. Vicki said wouldn't it be something if Howard showed up and sat at that table? Believe it or not, that's exactly what happened- and he was with Allison as well! It was just one of those things you couldn't plan. Needless to say, we all had a great time- the audience even showed restraint and didn't bother The Sterns (neither did Vicki and I!). Everyone gave them a rousing hand when Pat acknowledged Howard from the stage. After the show, as the audience spilled out onto the sidewalk, Howard was incredibly gracious with everyone. He answered questions and signed autographs. Allison? She looked a little put out by everyone- as if she couldn't wait to get away and go home! | Home | Show Rundown | Search | Site Map | Links | Plugs | | E-Mail Mark | |
